It's all falling apart alarmingly fast for Boris Johnson across the water. How long you reckon he has left as British Prime Minister? Hours surely?
How many parties are they talking about now? I've lost count.

Proberly knows the numbers are against him and didn't want to lose a two way fight .Good for everyone he won't be in charge .
He is still claiming he has over 100 signatures, but just does not want to put his name forward. Lol!
I think his whole strategy was to hope Sunak would bring him in on a joint ticket. Was a non-runner from day one.
He must be livid at his advisers, bringing him back for his coronation. It’s embarrassing
There's a good chance he won't contest the inevitable recall election I'd imagine.
It wasn't a lie just a miscalculation by one of his staff 🙂.
His comments about no candidate, including himself, being able to run an effective Government is a low blow. Basically admitting a General Election is required.
Kind of disappointed that thats the end of the Tory clown show, was entertaining while it lasted
Whatever happens, the big issue here is how they rely on the membership to pick pm, that needs to be changed forever.
Wow, what a surprise! Such a spoofer.
That’s probably the last we’ll see of Boris in national politics. I doubt he’ll run for Parliament next time around.
Lol! Back on the plane Boris
The boosterism didn't work on his own MPs - funny that.
He was trying to make himself the inevitable candidate but that is now Sunak.
So essentially he lied yet again- his claim of 100 backers was pure fantasy
Sky news- Boris NOT running
Bojo down.
And the spoof will work on some. For instance right wing boards posters who will blame everything on the Tory traitors who ruined the perfect post EU UK by not backing him.
Its actually better for Johnson if he doesn't get back in because it creates this forever myth about what could have been.
I would suspect that these announcements are just shameless attempts to manipulate the currency markets, to drop the value of the GBP by spooking the market to think that Johnson is going to return as PM, and then when Johnson announces his withdrawal and 'Sensible Sunak' is confirmed as the new PM the currency will rise and they'll be able to make a fortune
They've done it lots of times before

His campaign team are pulling a fairly desperate stunt. While doing so they’re highlighting the problem Johnson faces - i.e. that the general public have long since figured out that he’s an absolute spoofer with little actual substance.
He’s going to come out tomorrow and tell us all that, after much consideration and reflection, he is not in fact putting his name forward (and that it has nothing to do with him not getting 100 nominators!) Another spoof from a spoofer.
Johnson is rapidly running out of time. If he doesn't get the 100 backers by tomorrow afternoon, Sunak wins the leadership race automatically and on the spot as the only candidate left standing.
Cruella has backed Rishi making me seriously question where Boris 100 is coming from if even she isnt backing him.
Kwarteng's CV also pointed to him being a terrible choice because it shows his obsession with the bonkers economic policy he enacted in his budget.
Sunak has 148 declared backers, if he gets another handful then it’s only possible for there to be one other candidate. Johnson needs Mordaunt to stand aside and she’s not going to.
People are still sceptical about this :
Dunno, just trying to figure out some sense to the crazy.
I do know it's totally pointless.
Why would 'they' have made it so hard for Johnson to get into the race if that was the 'plan'?
Whoever takes the job is guaranteed to be out of No 10 within two years, and also out of the leadership position at the same time as they take the blame for the losses in the next general election. Maybe letting Johnson take that fall, as it's largely his doing the state of the party, and still have Sunak untarnished to then rebuild the party to come back after one term in opposition is the plan.
Doubt they have that much fore thought though.
Are they just trying to gin up some interest in a race that is all over by the shouting?
There does seem to be increasing confidence among broadcasters that Johnson has the 100
About as 'verified' as this I'd say
Maybe a new twist
Well if they had crafty operators, you'd think one of them would make it to the top. To me "crafty" means a bit smart coupled with some sneakiness. I think they have loads with the latter but not so many with the former. In any large group there has to be some who are smart, but they aren't making it to the top. Or they are being drowned out, or else are absorbing the craziness by osmosis.
I mean your man Kwarteng had a stellar CV on paper. Great academic credentials which one would think would have helped him somewhat in that role in terms of understanding the bigger picture. But he seemed to have just lost the plot.
From what we have seen, almost any person would have to be a better choice than BoJo. I'm not saying he is a good choice. I just made the point that with all the imploding, it might happen that anyone who gets it might get sacrificed and forced out later.....I don't think anyone would have went with only 44 days or whatever for Truss.
