It's all falling apart alarmingly fast for Boris Johnson across the water. How long you reckon he has left as British Prime Minister? Hours surely?
How many parties are they talking about now? I've lost count.

The excitement, Boris has cut short his holidays and flown back to the UK, in economy no less, with his good wife to save the day!
Yeah that photo was pretty funny. Does that actually play with some people? I'm no great intellect but it baffles me that there'd be people out there willing to cast a vote that would be taken in by that shoite.
Or maybe there isn't but the PR folk think there is.
Watching the Sky coverage of BJ's flight landing at Gatwick I couldn't help being reminded of Chamberlain arriving back at Heston.
Sunak will resonate more than Johnson, Johnson could get in and be forced to resign in 6 months.
Is he going to make the unpopular decisions of the next few years?
Most Govts in wider Europe are going to have to make decisions on where least harm can be done, not improved. Who gets the smallest cut, forget increases.
Johnson won't do that.
Besides he is still at 51 seats, no great rush to back him.
Rishi reportedly is up to 140 now. If he approaches 200 I wonder will Boris even declare. He’d be going into it with a majority of MPs against him on day 1, and it can only get worse with the investigations. It would be utterly unmanageable and I would expect resignations pretty early on. I don’t know that even he would want that
Before withdrawing he'd surely make a 'name your price' offer to Mordaunt to pull out and back him. Even if that doesn't happen I'm pretty sure we'll see a flight of her 'ABS' supporters to the Johnson camp....
I love how the Boris fan-boys are coming out highlighting that he's the only candidate who can take on Labour as evidenced by the massive majority he got against Jeremy Corbyn in 2019.
It's like someone who only saw the first few minutes of a match, when their team went 1-0 up, fell asleep and then assumed that they must have won.
They seem not to recall:
It's grasping of straws at the highest level - the actions of a gambler who is deep in the hole but thinks they can win it all back if they drink a little bit more champagne.
My point is that once Sunak gets to 180, Johnson can only have a minority of MPs, even with Mordaunts backers. And Sunak could pass 200. I don’t know that he would want to go down that road
So keeping a guy who was destroying the Tories in elections and polls should have stayed ?
The ERG will not be meeting until Monday to decide on who they are going to endorse.
Lol so they are going to endorse the winner?
The Eskimohunt maneuver.
Johnson taking a walk from 15/8 this morning to 4/1 available now (Paddypower, Betfred)

Anything happened to cause this? Maybe just the lack of an early ERG endorsement, but I do expect that to come tomorrow. Just might be the last chance to back him at this sort of price. Not a bet I want to make though as then I'd be kinda supporting him!
edit : And just like that, all the 4/1 mopped up with 3/1 now best. What a fast moving market.
maybe the chances now that Sunak will have a majority of MPs by then - maybe as many as 200. If that happens I would expect the others to stand down as would be going definitively against the will of the party
Is it my imagination or is Johnson looking dog rough these days? He seems to have aged terribly in the last year or so.
Do the bettors have inside info that Johnson will seriously struggle to make the 100 threshold?
It's all guesswork and speculation. Nobody can say with any certainty what will really happen.
You're making as many u-turns as Truss which really is quite pathetic!
It's not about the will of the party.
It's party members that ultimately have the final decision.
Heresy MPs who oppose the result of this election can sit as independents.
Heresy? So, it's a religion now is it.
Explains a lot though.

It's called the Eskimo shuffle. You put one leg in, one leg out, you do the eskimo shuffle and you shake it all about. And you always dance to the tempo of the people setting the tune, with your brain shut-off no matter what.

It's like a Daily Express Headline became sentient and started posting its thoughts in this thread.
If this is true then that's the ball game.
So there would be another vote before it goes to the members?
Could have sought solace in the bottle like his hero W Churchill.
I'm sure if he gets back into No. 10 it'll take years off him 🙂
Since the 2015 election the Tories have made a series of worse and worse decisions.
The sensible to do now would be to elect Sunak to steady the ship and try and put some clear water between the Truss fiasco and the next general election.
So, I guess that means they're going to elect Boris doesn't it?
It's beginning to look that way.
I didn't expect his comeback so soon!
Guardian reporting that the Johnson camp are planning a 'shock and awe' campaign in tomorrows newspapers so expect articles from his backers in the Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Express, Mail on Sunday to include endorsements specifically aimed at Tory MPs and the party membership. No doubt they will ensure the Sunak camp doesnt any say in the Tory media ether.
