What's gonna be the GME or AMC of the year? Money to be made still.
This looks cool...
I'm down 20% overall (7k) due to one stock tanking my portfolio
If I had put that money in the other stocks I have I'd be up 15/20%.
I am a 🤡 and I am disgusted with myself
Keep the faith lad I'd imagine the majority are down this year, it will turn eventually.
Thanks, I'm down 11k on BABA (over 50%.)😓
Looking at a CGT bill of about 7k. Nearly all in cash at present. The gain is all through buying and selling this year. Portfolio value has grown 50% this year. Only trade in a couple of share. I have one vanity investment that if it comes in will be a whopper or else I lose 4-5k in it
How much of the predicted 2023 recession is already priced into the S&P 500?
Can't find any handy articles to corroborate this at the minute.... But definitely read it somewhere that...
Stock Markets typically reflect 'real' economic conditions that are 3-6 Months in the future.
Make of that what you will 🤔
If you could buy any company, but on condition that you had to hold it for 20 years without selling. What company would you buy?
ASML
That a big question. It depends on whether you are a consertives, value or a risk taker.
Banks and financial institutions are usually a good consertives bet. Usually good dividend and good growth. An good dip.in and out choice will be AIB. The government are going to start selling down there share over the next couple of years. Its price will be volatile while this is happening.
With energy getting more expensive I think food will start to get more and more expensive. Kerrygroup will do well but it will be slow steady.
The risky will be any software companies. What will be the n next big breakthrough.
I am 60, I not looking at twenty years time. I watch AIB closely over the next few years. It should be a trading share.
Microsoft. That's one of a few companies I reckon will be around 100 years from now that isn't a bank.
I'd say any bricks and mortar bank today is a high risk of not being around in 20 years...
BBBYBros.... we're going home.
BHP
Been holding this a few years now as well. My only shining light to be honest. Got in at €0.39 so happy out. Had 10000 shares at one point but took profits to spread around and average down some other stinkers.
Price of lithium seems to be forecast pretty strong till next year at least so not in a rush to sell up just yet.
Facebook at a seven year low now
it was also popular 7 years ago
Tik tok is eating its lunch with respect of Instagram
Mobileye
Over the next few years every autonomous machine will have this technology.
Perhaps higher levels of autonomy in cars but ... https://wolfstreet.com/2022/10/17/as-autonomous-driving-spacs-implode-intel-slashes-mobileye-ipo-valuation-target-by-60/

I've said it a few times on here, the Metaverse is useless. It's a company (Facebook) that realises its days are numbered, making on last attempt to reinvent itself into something relevant. Metaverse is either useless or way ahead of its time, neither of which is a stock I want to be involved in at the moment
I believe that Metaverse was created as a revenue stream for FB; the amount of virtual advertising, avatars etc. they'd make IF it takes off (I don't think it will) would be massive
The cacks in Paris are down, now is a good time to go there for a wild wknd in the moulin rouge.
Under $100 a share now....ouch
That is brutal, don't know how the ownership is structured but I'd say Zuck is a dead duck over this.
Yeah no rush to sell myself, they're saying that next year supply will come on stream but they don't seem to realise that 1. Car manufacturers haven't even begun scratching the surface of meeting all the no new ICE cars after 2030 targets yet, all the demand is currently from China and even they can't get enough and keep setting new ATH prices for spod every day.
And 2. Where are all these new mines that are supposed to be coming on stream? It takes years to get one dialed in after you build it, they are way more complicated than conventional mining, a cross between a chemical refinery and a mine.
Also PLS is still ramping up production and is about to start all the downstream refining where the real money is, I'm happy to leave my money with them for another while anyway, even though the crazy recent run has left them as 70% of my portfolio.
Bargain!!
Meta at $100 now from a high of $380 in Sept 2021. Serious pain for some people. It was also one of the highest owned stocks for US Fund managers.
Would you recommend buying Meta ?
Amazon and Google are better buys at current lows , more sustainable
