It's all falling apart alarmingly fast for Boris Johnson across the water. How long you reckon he has left as British Prime Minister? Hours surely?
How many parties are they talking about now? I've lost count.

The tories are simply criminals who are afraid of justice
Good lord
He didn't at all. He gave them a slogan.
I think the markets will react in advance to be honest.
If Johnson starts to look like he might actually win early next week I would expect a market reaction and it won't be good.
It'll show exactly how hypocritical and self-serving the Tories are: considering a huge number of them threw him out not three or four months ago only to vote for him to warmly return as if nothing happened.
Johnson is now favourite with the bookies to be next leader - that was quick.
I can't help thinking though that he would be hugely divisive as leader, much more so than in his first incarnation.
Yeah. A symptom of nicking all those red wall seats is that their current occupiers know full well how precarious their position is. If he can't guarantee their reelection, they have no reason to fall in line.
Crazy to think he was 16/1 on Wednesday evening.
Interesting that Rishi Sunak is very quiet. Maybe this time he is being more strategic and that may just assist him.
Has this been posted yet... it seems incredibly prophetic and it was created in 1984... i suppose everything comes full circle at some stage...
Other than the next general election being entirely down to whoever the Tory party pick for leader and that they could then drag things out for another year and a half, I'm not overly bothered by whichever fool they pick. Johnson is obviously an absolute disaster, but I can only see it doing good things as far as ensuring that they loose the next election.
It does need the opposition parties to sort their stuff out and properly work together more than they have previously, but with a few carefully selected candidates standing as the only opposition against a Tory they should be safely kicked out. It has to be a relatively rare constituency that has over 50% of the vote going to one party. Any other seat is up for grabs if the opposition parties work together.
Then they might also be able to get through a more sensible voting system next time round.
A Boris rerun might actually split the Tory party and bring about an election.
I can see Boris starting his own party but I'm not sure what he'd call it.
Brexit is done so he can't swing off that so it will have to be some domestic policy like wanting everything to be like 1955, the Downton Abbey party or something.
Did I just read that?
Whatever but if Boris runs and gets a wee head of steam, he's unbeatable next week. X Factor they call it.
I wonder is Rishi (or his 'people') Machiavellian enough to try to manipulate the MP vote to push BoJo below the 100 threshold? Problem with that is, I don't think they could split the vote enough to ensure he is the only one meeting the threshold, and would he be any more certain to defeat Mordaunt or whoever it would be?
One Rishi Sunak ally told MailOnline he will almost certainly run, and predicted that there would be a 'natural logic' to him facing off against Boris Johnson. 'It will be a battle for the soul of the party,' they added.
so maybe Team Rishi's attitude is 'Bring it on'...
It wont happen they would be out of power for decades unless Labour pushed through PR-STV which they would never do if the tories had already split.
It's not X-factor, it how terrible his rivals for the position are. That's the reason he survived as long as did and why he is even in the frame this time - when he really shouldn't be.
Obviously I've never met Boris and I've only ever heard him interviewed on TV & radio. But all those who have met him say he's very personable, great fun and a great communicator when he wants to be. That sways a deal of people.
abc
And? How does this relate to governing a country?
Meanwhile...
Boris'll just take this attitude to any scrutiny
It doesn't have to.. this is about the Tories getting a leader that will minimise damage to their electoral chances in an election whenever it comes. Boris is a populist leader at the end of the day. Which would the average Brit like better - Hunt or Sunak and their boring policies to cut spending and have fiscal rectitude. Or Boris promising this, that and the other??
"Stupid is as stupid does" - bringing Johnson back into the contest is beyond stupid - about as clever as Brexit. How many times can they shoot themselves in the foot!!
Yes, it does. That's the job he's going for. Pretending to be a moronic clown does not help with that.
The Tories are heading for defeat. Putting Johnson back on top would be beyond parody and would guarantee this.
He's a horrible person in person.
Also, I see the pro Johnson trolls have managed to find their way back into the thread after they disappeared a mere few weeks ago.
I agree with the sentiment that it may split the party. More.
He would have to work to set up a party. So he won't.
The reason the Tories got rid of Johnson is because he became an electoral liability. That hasn't changed, he still is one.
Have you met him? Tell us how you got on with Boris in person.
BTW I'm not a Johnson troll, just reading the room & situation as best one can.
When you think about it if Boris were to return as PM the immediate existential danger to him is the Privledges Commitee finding that he lied to parliament which is a resigning matter. That then brings about a recall by election in Johnsons constituency of Uxbridge and South Ruislip and if the local elections in May just gone and more recent opinion polls in the constituency are correct then Boris is losing his seat. The constituency has 12 wards and Labour are predicted to win 11 of them.
I could get behind this, to watch a sitting Prime Minister lose their seat in a recall election would be box office stuff. It would be the ultimate of political humiliations not just on the UK stage but worldwide and it would come with the added bonus that having lost a sitting PM it would likely precipitate a general election and a complete wipe out of the Tories.
But in the meantime the Tories will be working overtime to shut that Privileges Committee down. Its make up is 4 Tory MPs, 2 Labour and 1 SNP so the Tories do have the votes to prevent the censure of Johnson. The main question now is how loyal are those 4 Tory MPs to Johnson, they are Andy Carter, Alberto Costa, Laura Farris and Bernard Jenkin. If Johnson gets reinstalled as PM suddenly those four Tory MPs hold his fate in their hands and they will come under serious pressure from Johnson loyalists.
Are you discounting the point that he might just be seen by the public to have been punished?? And now could return as the prodigal son.
Here you are. You won't watch it or you'll play the fake news card but I'll post this nonetheless.
