It's all falling apart alarmingly fast for Boris Johnson across the water. How long you reckon he has left as British Prime Minister? Hours surely?
How many parties are they talking about now? I've lost count.

Not a chance, have you seen the demographics of the Tory party membership?
Sir Anthony Seldon , Historian , being interviewed on the BBC News .
Said 8ts not about the records or individual political parties , people can't afford to live , strikes looming, discontent, an economic crisis as England has not seen for years , NHS queues , and yet you have the party meant to have a mandate divided and failing to lead with any sense .
What is needed is a " grown up to take charge " and carefully try to put the country first and its people and not put party politics or egos before sensible stable government .
Just paraphrasing but that was the essence of it . He said history will look at this time in England and wonder what were the politicians doing , " extraordinary " !
" it requires a serious outbreak of wisdom " and " there to serve the country , and not their narrow tribal interests " ...
Surely a grown up would be someone like Rishi Sunak , Penny Mordaunt , or even Keir Starmer ?
Definitely not Bojo .surely .
Selfless... 😂
Good...
So they elect Boris, the Commons Privileges Committee investigation finds that he deliberately misled parliament and issue a suspension of 10 sitting days or more. This will trigger a petition under the Recall of MPs Act 2015. At least one in ten voters in the constituency sign that petition. A by-election will be called, which he looses. The Tories are looking for another leader in a matter of months.
Utterly disgraceful carry on and these Tories all voted to take £20 pe week off those on Universal Credit
:)
44 days, jaysus.
She lasted 1 Brian clough at Leeds.
He's utterly despised by all but a very very small group within the Tory party and even they don't really like him.
He's influential , but not popular at all and simply wouldn't get the votes , ever.
But in Johnsons case he has the time and other peoples money.
What is democracy worth when looking at the shambless in the UK, At this stage it should be the people who decide the future of the country and not some political inbreds in the Tory or labour party
In this torrid time for the Ex Pm,lettuce pray for her.
One for the pub quizzes, September 7th 2022 will go down as the single entire calendar day in history when both the shortest ever serving PM and longest ever serving Monarch were both in power.
She's a fighter not a quitter though?
🤣
Fuck me, what an absolute calamity.
The independent with unintentional shade thrown. Nice.
Liz is annoyed. LOL.
He really, really, did. Didn't he.
Conservative rule in Britain has been nothing short of a fat disaster for over a decade.
If they were going to give the job to an ex-PM, surely Teresa May would be a far better option that Johnson
I suspect you'll see legal challenges from the wider party membership with the way they're going to appoint a successor though.
They probably should go for Penny!
The membership will vote online for the next leader next week. If Boris makes the ballot he'll win!
Mogg won't try when the entire party is a shambles. He knows that he'll only end up looking like a farce, just like Cameron, May, Johnson and Truss. It isn't just the PM's that are at fault here in this disaster of a party. There's plenty of blame to go around.
Modern Conservatism just doesn't care any more (you could question whether it did since the days of Thatcher). It exists simply to transfer wealth upwards and it doesn't matter whether the rest of the UK gets screwed in the process and the entire thing goes down, because those with wealth will either ride out the storm or jump ship with their gains.
It doesn't even pretend to be about anything else these days and Mogg is the epitome of that, so he isn't an answer at all.
Maybe out of this chaos, the people of Britain will realise that and start to demand better of their governments.
..
Are there 100 MPs left that Boris hasn't pissed off?
Looks like they're going down this route. The threshold is 100 nominations to get in the game.
Given she is only 47 that pension of £115,000 has to be worth somewhere in the order of £3m-£4m.. That is some wedge for 44 days work
I saw that on Sky, man I seriously doubt the Tory party are properly set up in IT terms to ensure that vote is secure with the vote happening so quickly from Monday onwards. This is exactly the type of scenario that Putin is set up for
@Muahahaha
It's downright fucking criminal.

A friend said this a few weeks back and I laughed, I am still laughing...but not in a funny way at all.
He could create a crisis that is worse for himself.
Why wouldn’t Boris reach the 100 MPs threshold? They’re completely, utterly batshit crazy. Lots of them love him, no? If he makes it to the membership vote, he’ll win. Couldn’t they just have said that being booted out in the last year automatically disqualifies you?? They seem to be able to change the rules willy nilly as it is.
Imagine, if Boris comes back, we’ll be stuck with both him and Leo as leaders of our respective countries in 2023, AGAIN… 🤦🏻♀️
it won’t go to the members. I think they’re just saying that to try to calm them down. There’ll be behind the scenes chats next week such that everyone behind the front runner drops out
