God, he's aged a lot! (even allowing for the fact that the whole thing took 11 years)
One thing that caught my eye, though, was the main bedroom in the tower.... spectacular..... but it looked like if you were lying in the bed, you couldn't see out the windows - that would be beyond frustrating!!
The house is fairly (very) epic though!
And the pool in the final Kevin scene.... north / east facing, wind whipped.... didn't exactly sell it as a luxury hangout!! Looked marginally better when they were jumping in...
I hope it sells for him.
But what a depressing programme.
Just watching this now..... and my stress levels are going through the roof!
Even though I know how the original programme ends, I'd forgotten the epic levels of delusion - and the slightly panicked look on his (ex-)wife's face in every shot.
And I'd also forgotten how seeing the kids go from children to teenagers to young women illustrates just how long it all went on for - how he didn't have a heart attack along the way is beyond me!
You get your deposit of 5k back. However there is a 200 euro bidding fee. That house has surprisingly low AMV. However there is flood damage and you have to refurbish. It may be a bank sale.
195k would be a high AMV if there was a nought missing.
Very few vendors would allow an AMV that low to stand. Remember if it reaches the AMV it's on the market.
They always do that to get people to sign up. Is bidx1 not the one where you have to pay them a non refundable 5k just to be able to bid?
This one is, um, interesting!

That’s what caught my eye, something I can nearly afford 😂
those bidx ads often have stupidly low AMVs
I'm guessing there's a 0 missing in the AMV
I’m guessing this got flooded, along with other issues
This estate got badly flooded back around 10 years ago

From the very first picture, it's all just so goddam busy and that's before looking at any of the pictures of the inside.
I'd be getting rid of all the ice-blue first - it's making me cold just looking at the pictures!
I would need to get rid of more than the lime green to live in that house! The decor is equally awful in every room.
Whoever lives there loves clashing colours and using the paint brush.
I like this one but the lime green would have to go
Just catching up on the thread here. Another one here thinking the delph is a bit strange.
But its I guess its somewhere to place your morning starter...
Now that i love,Would be a great place to escape from the crap world we live in for a while.
I've heard the trusses are dodgy, the roof might fall in on top of you.
Well, that's up for grabs as well.
You put the pin on No 11 not 10.
From the teatowel in view the kitchen sink is in the living area anyway
A Prime piece of London real estate is back on the market.

I'm a lumberjack and i'm ok.
Live out your swiss family Robinson fantasies in Cavan. Although, don;t drink the water, judging by the number of plastic containers of same in the utility.
i still think its a stretch :)
Yes well you've just look at the cost of the house I think and divided it by three - I also said/added the cost of renovating it to the same standard as those new build family houses. But looking at the prices of them now, maybe you're right, 3 is a stretch. I would argue possibly 2 though, depending on the area and size. When contractors come out to work on this house, I imagine they charge quite a lot because they know the owners have a lot of money.
3 family houses in donnybrook for 500k a piece?
I just don't know how someone can prefer these ancient houses over the more recent builds. I know it has prestige but as a functioning house it's pretty awful when you consider how newer builds are half the price, in pristine condition with insulation, ensuites, coming with better sized bathrooms/utility rooms etc. Sometimes these ancient houses have massive gardens so I'd understand that, but you could buy three family houses in that area for the same cost as this one plus the renovation to same standard.
I can already get the musty smell just from looking at the pics
We had a decent size hall L shaped 8' wide inside the door and 6' including stairs ( it was not boarded down but boarded underneath). When the lads were young they played them all the time. When they were very all they were constantly whizzing around it in some sort of plastic car.
That would be a major job. You would have to use structural steel as it would be an exceptionally wide opening. What is more surprising is they are doing the cooking out there and there washing machine and tumble dryer is in the dining living area. If it was me I would switch it around change the back into a utility and put the food cooking area in the living area. They have a sitting room as well.
Fine house just needs a change of layout. Turn scullary into utility room. then kitchen/ dining and sitting room. Turn either a bedroom downstairs or upstairs ( my own preference downstairs) into an office. The two rooms upstairs cannot officially be called bedrooms but are more than adequate
It's C rated so it's a well insulated house. A lit of cosmetic and redecorating work. Great value at 200k if you had an eye for doing up houses.
Hmmm, I do like a statement hallway! As long as you have enough room elsewhere, mind you, and this house seems to be ok.
The table I could kind of understand, but the kitchen chairs around it are very odd, I never noticed them the first time. Between those and the dresser in the bedroom, you'd think they'd just have built on a back kitchen or something!
I'd also sack the estate agent for a very lazy job doing the description. Now, some go waaaay overboard with ridiculously flowery and exaggerated desciptions, but this is bare to the bones, and if I'm not mistaken they've left a bathroom out of it.
Interesting kitchen layout here.
I wonder why nobody thought of knocking down the bit of a wall and making it into a proper kitchen/living room? Actually, the walking stick probably tells me why the wall wasn't knocked.
The entrance hall in pic 2/3 is a bit of a waste of space. I can't imagine anyone would ever sit at that table as there is a table in the dining room/kitchen that would more likely be used for meals. Sitting there for reasons other than meals would also seem unlikely as you'd be looking out at traffic passing by your front gate. That said, they do have a gas heater beside the table so maybe they do use it.
The bed pulled away from the wall/radiator in pic 11 is also strange. I'm wondering if that's how the person gets to their side of the bed without breaking their neck over the electric cable you mentioned.
It's a nice enough house but certainly not decorated to my taste. I'd want to clear it out and let a painter/decorator at it.
Wow, that's a gorgeous house!
Not half as bad as I was expecting after reading the first post about it.
Dresser in bedroom is definitely VERY odd!
A different colour scheme, paint all that pine, lose 90% of the cluttery stuff, and that's an amazing house.
But the trailing flexes would send my OCD into absolute meltdown - the electric blanket in pics 11/12, and the ceiling light in pic 17. For a house with such a nice finish everywhere else, WTF are they about!
But there's definitely a reason you're told to declutter for viewings, and this is a great example of it!
