Ordered two Barbie dolls for the little one for Christmas which were on offer yesterday. Ordered at 9am yesterday and they were here by 10am today . That’s the quickest Amazon delivery I’ve ever had .

By Amazon standards it's not. But still, trying to list items coming out of it in a thread seems pointless.
I delivered to a lad, books ordered at 730 on a Tuesday eve, they left the depot at 10 the next morning.
An Post don't accept larger batteries in post (if they know about them) so no powerbanks through Amazon for the foreseeable.
It's an absolute pain. Best bet is just to get one delivered (free) to whatever hotel in the UK you are staying in and bring it home that way.

I'm not sure how you'd judge what's in stock in Dublin. When I placed the order delivery was estimated for next Tuesday, changed to 19/10 when it shipped at 3:30am, then to today at 10am.

Ordered a tool rest for a Triton grinder last night around 5pm and its out for delivery by our trusty postman this morning (scanned by postie at 07:43).
It took Amazon two months to get the tool to me from the UK (Prime and sold by Amazon, was in stock all that time) yet some random part for it was in stock in Dublin? Other parts for the same tool are also on order and coming from the UK. That makes no sense.
Ordered a Fitbit at 4pm yesterday. Out for delivery. Will have it by 12 today…..

probably never. They only opened an amazon.nl in 2020 and amazon belgium this year and they are bigger countries than us.
Noticed an Amazon Deliveries van in Cork yesterday. Interesting, as An Post deliver all the stuff I order.

I doubt it, we are much too small a market compared to their bigger sites, UK Germany etc. What is it you hate about the UK site? I just change the currency over to euros job done 😁
Do you let Amazon set the currency exchange rate by doing that? If so it's more expensive than paying in Sterling and letting your card provider set the rate.

I've no issue with the .co.uk site. Prices are good, Great range, service is top notch and I have most items in about three days without Prime.
I doubt there will be a dedicated .ie site for a long time.
I have issues with currency exchange, deliveries, and possible duty payable, all of which just makes it harder to buy from them.
But yeah, we are small beer for amazon, they're not likely to do much for us.

putting aside deliveries because that is location specific there are no issues with currency exchange or duty payable. Pay in GBP and let your credit card calculate the currency rate. never depend on the amazon rate. as for duty payable the only issues come when you buy from third party sellers .
I use revolut for exchange, it is much better than the credit card rate. but still. its all a hassle.
Returns are another pain the hoop.
I have bought much less on amazon since 2020 and it doesn't look like that will change.
If you pay in Sterling the currency exchange is negligible. Deliveries are very prompt. Duty is covered if buying from Amazon, just check if it's covered with particular 3rd party sellers (this would apply to a .ie site too). To be honest, buying from the .co.uk site couldn't be simpler.
not everyone has had the same seamless experience. But hey, you do you.
