4 dead, 6 missed, 25 wounded as result of military Su-34 crash in Eysk of Krasnodar Krai
A really big day of Russians losses added to the oryx list. A fair bit is historical but 279 vehicles in added in one day is crazy. I know we all joked about them rolling out t-34's but it mightn't be a joke anymore.
No that would not trigger ww3, fire at Moscow and there’s no stopping it
It's interesting in terms of logistics that the russians are sending trucks and petrol tankers to Belarus
Yet it's such a goddamn satisfying fantasy. Along the lines of the Doolittle raid on Tokyo.
Typical fcuking Russian.
"Should I stay with the plane and try to steer it away from that residential areas with kids and families.
Fcuk em, I'm outta here."
Nice, I'm sure that'll buff right out though
Ah yes, thats true. But imagine if the situation changed, and they have already gone into mass production, literally showers of them hitting Russian main cities' / military bases etc. But in any case, I'm pretty sure that their range can be adjusted?
108 servicewomen and civilian hostages, freed from Russian captivity on October 17, arrived in Zaporizhzhia
Some good news.
Russia can't be allowed to win, or so we're told, it simply can't happen. So if we get to the point that Russia gets the upper hand, will US and Nato go full retard on Russia, and take em out on Ukrainian soil
They lost to Japan in the WC (1-0) on the 9th of June and went on the prick after losing.
That’s full escalation then for putin isn’t it ?
I hope we’re not too far gone to feel sorry for the innocent Russian civilians killed and hurt in this plane crash.
I thought that flash was the pilots ejecting, it would match the location of the parachutes in the photo.
Also an engine fire does not have to be visible from the ground, it's not like a Concorde ruptured fuel tank.
The one drawback with that argument is that if Russia fires off the first Nuke, and the West / Ukraine retaliates with conventional weapons, decimating Putin's conventional military, what's to stop him going all out with his nuclear arsenal? (unless of course, his nuclear arsenal is completely destroyed by the West's conventional weapons? and what are the chances of that?
I’ve heard it said here before and I know the late norm McDonald would share the sentiment, but Putins a real jerk
Unfortunately for the world I don't think it's just putrid, I think the real problem is russian mentality and as Wibbs would say the russian empire. Until that is dealt with, we could just remain in a cycle of putrid like dictators in russia.
I'm not made of stone so yes feel a little bad but it's happening in Ukraine everyday.
There is no scenario where Russia get an upper hand.
Holding the 4 annexed provinces and having enough troops to provide security and maintenance of the Russian federation as well is the big ask now.
A collapsed Russia is in no one's interest and makes the current situation a dream boat.
No modern world army is rating Russia, never mind NATO forces.
Well it collapsed before with no real issues outside until it was solidified.
It's highly complex.
It's likely Putin would take everything in baby-steps. If he were intent on ultimately using a nuclear weapon on Ukraine, he would first start prepping the populace for it (already signs of this), then he would undertake some nuclear military maneuvers, e.g. moving warheads, prepping planes - and gauge intl. response to that. Then likely test a nuclear weapon in Russia, again to gauge intl response. Step-by-step. Each move like a chess move to see how the other side reacts.
The reactions of "neutral" countries like China/India would be critical in that whole process. Hypothetically if they stayed quiet, and Putin continued down that road, then indeed the West would have to draw up some very strong provisional plans.
The Yanks have casually said they would wipe out Russian forces in Ukraine and sink the Black Sea fleet. If that were true, Putin would know it, and if that were cause for Russia to launch nukes, then that would be part of a decision chain whereby the leadership of Russia (with Putin as it's decision-maker) would be opting for nuclear annihilation of Russia - which wouldn't make much sense.
Therefore it's very, very unlikely to happen.
What is much more likely is that Putin uses the nuclear threat as yet another part of the toolbox to rattle the West, unnerve it, test it. It's just one big chess game, as it always has been.
I gotta be honest, its a stretch.
I know Putin is a violent autocrat and many people in Russia are as much victims in this. But still.
By collapse I mean Balkanized. There are a lot of Republics in Russia that are only Russian 200 years and hate the Kremlin yoke.
The Tsar and Communists kept them in line with mass murder and death camps.
Putin's Russia is a softer beast, a beast all the same, if his army is broken there could be a 100 new States East of Moscow.
I find this video odd. There is snow on the ground, yet all the recent videos and photos I have seen show 90% still green trees, a few with autumnal colours and some tanks in mud. I haven't seen any snow and the closest would be a light morning frost.
I'm sure it's been posted already, but I''m reveling in the thought of how many tankie heads are being privately wrecked at this news
I disagree, I think this is the time to put an end to Russia. Its influence for centuries has been nothing but negative. Its not a country nor an empire. Its time it was broken up, its nuclear arsenal disarmed and it damaging influence neutered. The folding of agencies like the fsb would be positive beyond words.
russia currently is being beaten with NATO's surplus bargain bin. While I disagree with how you phrase your question, I would fully support NATO and the West collectively intervening on Ukraine's behalf should some unthinkable scenario see russia gain the upper hand.
Times in life you have to grow a backbone and punch the bully in the face, come what may.
If he launches his nukes - which he won't - then he launches his nukes. The only other option is eternal nuclear blackmail from a mafia/terrorist state.
tldr, kick him in the balls.
Main reason Russia is losing the war is because it has been exposed as a third world country with a third world army (both of which are riddled with corruption and theft). Putin was able to keep up the pretence of it being some sort of superpower for years, but as soon he got into a direct full on clash with the West, he has been exposed as a fraud.
That break up would come with a price tag in millions of lives.
Maybe that is the reality of it and the best option long term but it seems like a heavy price.
I don't agree either, I think a break up of russia would be a long term positive for the world. There was lot's of angst at the break up of the soviet union as well.
