Thanks for the useless links to the SI and the EU law, both of which are applicable to distributors and producers of electrical equipment and not the private citizen.
For the record, I have avidly used codes provided in this thread and my criticism if the individual sticks is aimed at Sky than anyone else.
I shan’t be derailing the thread any further to argue what was a simple observation.
@Doodah7, if you want to be willfully obtuse, nothing we can say will convince you that what you're doing is wrong. While WEEE may put the onus on manufacturers and distributors to pay for the disposal of such material doesn't mean that you're justified in throwing hazardous material in the bin, no more than it'd justify you in pouring paint or used oil down the drain.
You could have offered the sticks to someone else, instead of throwing them out, or donated them to a charity shop.
Also, you could have tried with just two sticks, before buying them in bulk, you'd have known pretty quickly what worked and what didn't.
There is some merit to that say this is of Skys making, but it could also be viewed as an unintended consequence that Sky did not anticpate. No one is doing anything wrong to buy multiple sticks (unless there are T&Cs that say otherwise but not enforced).
I like to save money as much as anyone but havent bought any sticks because I believe (i) it creates unnecessary e-waste and (ii) I didnt want the hassle of disposing of them legally. But I have not sat here on boards finger-waving at people who have bought the sticks as I would like to think people are either disposing of them correctly or passing them on for re-use (which is even better).
The EU directive you dismissed, feeds directly and indirectly down into our legislation regarding WEEE. As a direct response Local Authrority by-laws now stipulate in order to manage your waste correctly you must either:
This goes further requiring that when using a permitted door-to-door waste collector you must ensure that;
...The wheeled bin (or bag where permitted) presented for collection, must
You have come out quite strongly claiming you havent done anything legally wrong disposing of them in the bin. Then when its been pointed out that in fact you have, you have suggested Sky is to blame. But regardless, this doesnt abdicate personal responsibility for correct disposal of e-waste.
Sure no one will ever know and its only a few sticks. But collectively, small changes have a huge impact on the environment.
🙄🙄
Any chance Actual Codes can be discussed rather than the recent tripe chat?
Any one got a sky sports voucher?
Doodah probably has a spare stick he could sell you 😬
Thanks a million for this.
Any sports extra codes doing the rounds that are still in date, wouldn't mind catching the UTd game
Looking for similar for Celtic CL games, dont fancy paying €33 for a month, it's desperately poor value for what's on
Probably a stupid question but im being offered Sports Extra now for €15pm for 6 months, if i take it do i have to take the 6 months or can i cancel straight away and just have it for one month?
You can watch these for free on livescore with the option to cast.
I know but im having issues casting to my TV at the moment, not worth the hassle id like to watch the games without interruption, thanks anyway
Do boost codes come around often of is it just random?
There was at least 2 in the last 6 months or so, both now expired. Best of them was 6 months for a total of €10.
Won't help you for tonight but the sticks are definitely the best value for sports, just in case you missed them. €15 (plus postage) for a month of Sports and Sports Extra (plus the physical stick which is actually a decent enough bit of kit)
Ya i know, but i have a good deal for the main sports at the moment, just want Extra for a few weeks, but i dont wnat signing up for 6 months
Cinema offer €4.99 per month for 6 Months
NOWCINURLA
The bundle on the stick is 2 seperate codes
Hi. Does anyone have an entertainment code please. Thank you.
Can you activate both at different times, or do they have to be activated together straight away?
Yes, you get 2 vouchers, you can activate them whenever you want seperately. I've run 3 Sports sticks so far, 1 is running off Extra, the 3 from Sports have been banked due to me being on already on existing Sports offers, will use them on a cold winters evening in the future 😁
If want to use a stick then you need to log in and that will immediately activate the free month of Sports and Extra. If you have existing discounts or free months on either Sports or Extra, the new free months will apply automatically after those expire. Otherwise the free month for each is activated immediately. There is no option to use the stick and defer activation of the free month.
Needed sports extra in a rush for family member wanting the rugby, got a deal on group on for €15 pm for sports extra and €3 pm for boost, both for 6 months. Not the best deal I've got but took it in the absence of any other codes knocking around
Have you a link to that boost deal?
Found it here

Looks like it was offered via now website as an upgrade to having sports already
NOWBOOSK22Q4
Try this code for boost. It may work.
This one works, thanks so much 👍
I only joined now TV because the stick was reduced so cheap but I'm loving it so far, so much better value than Netflix 😊
If you're looking for the URC rugby then Munster, Leinster and Connacht games are all live on RTE or TG4 for free. If you're looking for the non-Irish games URCTV is €54 for the rest of the season, all remaining games, 14 rounds+3 playoff rounds, not bad value I recon. Certainly beats €18 for a month
Yes but if you are a rugby fan in general, you are also getting Champions Cup, Challenge Cup, Top 14 and English Premiership when you get BT and Premier.
