Here ya go
And don't tell me he was making the casual observation of the per capita cost without implying that's what Burke cost because there's no other reason to make the post.
And even then to deny how the figures were calculated? Nah.... !!
Literally zero people have any clue what point you're trying to make is and you're making a sausage of yourself.
I honestly don't know what your problem is with that post. They said the average cost of a prisoner is 80K and quoted a source. You seem to think that is the marginal cost of another prisoner when it clearly isn't.
Previously, I had questioned a poster who claimed it was costing 1k a week to house Burke, Yurt said that was an under-estimation and quoted above link.
If he's not trying to back up 1,000 a week being an underestimation with that link pointing at 80k, then I don't know why he posted it. And if he's doesn't mean for one prisoner, then what's this got to do with the cost of Burke's internment (hypothetical question, I don't want an answer)?
Sometimes I despair for humanity.
Or maybe all publicity is good publicity - he’s probably feeling lonely and that except for a few boardsies with sad lives like us, no one else is talking about him 😛
Some more details on Enoch annoying people
The source continued to say that “his life wasn’t under threat, but he might have got a beating if he’d been left in the main jail.” Ultimately, the source concluded by saying that the Progression Unit is for a different calibre of prisoners and that the environment would be safer for Enoch Burke.
Yet again , a clear example of his (and his entire families) inability just to keep the mouth shut.
You could have sommit there..Pee.
I'm open to correction on this but is Burke not costing the taxpayer a teacher's wage plus the cost of his prison time?
I believe that would be correct, unless something has changed, he was suspended with full pay pending the outcome of the disciplinary hearing.
However, considering he’s been in prison, the hearing was postponed, it’s unclear whether he’s being paid still or not.
This lad is a mad man anyway, I couldn’t see myself spending an hour in prison over “God” never mind a month!
It's clearly for his own safety he's been moved. A special case made for political reasons that is not afforded to other prisoners.
Plenty of prisoners get moved for their own safety. Nothing unusual about it
Are you for real trying to assert that Enoch Burke is a political prisoner, rather than another religious whack job?
His whole family are religious whack jobs in fact but that’s neither here nor there.
And then you follow up by implying that he’s being treated specially somehow as if many a prisoner are not segregated from the general population in order to keep them safe whether that be due to their reason for being there, if they are antagonistic to other prisoners etc.
The fact is this guy just can’t learn when to shut up. He got jailed for refusing to just shut up & now he continues to harp on about how transgender people are bad and God said so and whatever other rubbish to the point where he’s had to be segregated again so he doesn’t get his arse kicked.
In my opinion it’s probably what he’s sorely missing. A good kick in the arse.
Are you for real trying to assert that Enoch Burke is a political prisoner
He/ she very clearly isn't for real, don't worry about it.
Is that fool still in jail? Good enough for him. A disturbed family. I hope one of them escapes the circle of trust and writes a book.
He indeed may be a whack job as eloquently put but is also prisoner of conscience
A prisoner of conscience is anyone imprisoned because of their race, sexual orientation, religion, or political views. The term also refers to those who have been imprisoned or persecuted for the nonviolent expression of their conscientiously held beliefs.
Total crap.
It is total crap because, and I can't believe I still have to say this, he is locked up for refusing to obey a court order
No.
..
He can express his opinions and beliefs all he likes in accordance with the law, the same as anyone else - and his family are certainly no strangers to public protest and making their views known.
What's not acceptable are his actions as an employee, especially given that he is a teacher with a duty of care towards all pupils in his school. The school maintains that his actions violate its policies on equality and student protection, and staff behaviour in general.
The school management felt that these actions were serious enough to warrant suspension (with pay) until an investigation could be held. His rights have been protected in the same way as any other employee.
He refused to comply and continued to attend the school and disrupt the work of the school.
The school management felt it necessary to obtain an injunction to prevent him continuing to attend the school.
He refused to comply with this injunction and on numerous occasions has told the court of his intention to continue to disregard the order of the court. He has refused to purge his contempt.
So we are where we are, and he is where he is.
That's it.
Attempts to spin this into some sort of religious persecution narrative are utterly pathetic and nonsensical.
Christ almighty, would you lot stop feeding the bloody troll....??
Prisoner of consceince? For ****'s sake, that's almost woke talk and we all know that this poster is as far from woke as you could get.
Prisoner of conscience? You mean like Ghandi? Mandela? Marsha P Jonson? These are the guys this poster would consider liberal pinko leftists and in the belief that they wound up in custody because they broke the law and deserve to be there.
Prisoner of conscience? If that's the case, they're nearly all prisoners of consceince in Mountjoy.
Seriously. Think for a second. Has he ever, in his posting, given you the idea he cares about human rights and political prisoners? Ever? No? Good. Now stop paying the guy any attention. He doesn't give a **** about Burke one way or the other, and you all KNOW that.
He is not a "prisoner of conscience" as he is not locked up for his religious beliefs, or for expressing them.
He is locked up for contempt of court because he broke a court injunction.
He’s locked up because mouthing off is more important than shutting it.
You don't still have to say it. You choose to say it. The poster you replied to ALREADY KNOWS THIS.
Maybe. and Maybe not.
The local priest is from Africa, on a 3 year contract with the opportunity to renew. This could be the way the church is going here in the future.
As long as there are Asian, African and Latin American priests available, we may be stuck with the current model.
Is that an admission that prison is an inherently unsafe space?
I don't think people would be saying he's being held for political reasons, but that politically it would look very bad for the government (and even more so the judiciary) if he got injured in prison, particularly when he hasn't been convicted of any crime.
Only if you insist on wandering the halls deliberately antagonising violent offenders by telling them that they will burn in hell should they not repent their ways and give themselves completely to the lord.
