Large scale damage, photos look very serious.
Hopefully no fatalities or serious injuries, but hard not to imagine people will have been hurt in that.
Of course I know empathy.
How dare you presume!!
By now it seems like everyone knew the victims.
Again I do feel sorry for all who died or got hurt by that explosion!!!
But I'll take a guess, 99% of posts here are pure exhibition in need to express it online.
I did say earlier in the thread that people can express their sympathy and their feelings without criticism. As you have your profile private I cant give you a warning so a 1 day ban will have to do.
Thread closed until i get time to review the later posts
Okay then. I did a quick review of the last couple of pages and I have deleted some posts, issued cards to others and banned xhomelezz permanently from this forum for the sheer level of trolling.
Im reluctant to open this thread again but I'll let it run a little longer in the hope that some people can cop on and respect the fact that we are enduring a huge tragedy here in the County. I have posted various warnings in the thread already about what is and is not allowed so I wont be repeating that. Show a bit of sensitivity with the posts please.
it seems they don’t expect any further immediate fatalities anyway, please goodness the critically ill person will pull through, and that the other injured people have a less complicated physical recovery. This is going to leave lifelong psychological scars on individuals/family/friends affected and the wider local area community as a whole. Something never to be erased from the annals of history. I imagine there may be a day of national mourning in support of those affected.
A father and his 5 year old daughter among the dead. God help the poor wife/mother and any other kids that has had their family torn apart.
Very sad and thoughts with all involved.
On a side point, someone needs to open a separate thread in CA etc. One of the larger civil disasters I can remember. Pointless discussing here in this forum.
There was one and it was not only closed but deleted. You think comments here were bad...imagine what it was like.
That is really heartbreaking.
Considering there's no day of national mourning for the Stardust disaster, those poor families are still fighting for answers 40 years later. As horrific as this is I doubt it will get a day of national mourning.
Is it ok to share a screenshot from Letterkenny rugby club regarding one of the deceased? They have been officially named.
There was a day of mourning around the time the victims were laid to rest, if I recall. Might have been in Dublin only, not national I remember I worked with Dublin Corporation at the time and we were closed for a day.
RIP to those lost in Creeslough.
My mistake, tbh I read it as a yearly national day that that poster was suggesting.
As far as I can see there are no reports of a fire, or major fire at least. It's crazy to think that a gas explosion happened next to a fire station and there was no major fire as a consequence.
A tragedy like this resonates with nearly everybody as it reminds them that it could have been their child, nephew, niece and any other relative or friend that could have walked into a shop after school on a Friday full of excitement with the weekend ahead and then an accident like this happens without warning . That's why there is much empathy as it just hits home that you never know what's around the corner .
Nobody should be criticised here for offering condolences or maybe looking for some answers or explanation as they are just scared this could happen in their area . It's just how emotions work in the near aftermath of such a tragedy.
People who come on here just to call them out and accuse them of jumping on bandwagon of sadness are the ones who deserve to be criticised, but not worth it . Just let them think how they would feel if it was a member of their family involved and how they would then appreciate every ounce of sympathy and support, whether it's a stranger in a different country posting a message or donating to a gofundme page .
If the name has been officially announced then I dont see a problem.
I m not a great one for Go Fund Me but have sent a small donation. It’s going towards the families.
Where is it officially announced? Nothing on any Irish National media I've looked at.
Going by that post I'd say the rugby club has a post on.
Four already named in the daily mail I wont link it
Rip to those poor people, would a national day of mourning be fitting, it's years since so many have died together in Ireland and it seems like there should be some sort of remembrance to mark it just my thoughts, a terrible tragedy
Trust the Daily Fail - vultures.
I see they refer to Leo as "Deputy PM". Their arrogance knows no boundaries.
RIP
Does it matter what they call Varadkar? This isn't about him

It’s so very tragic, little girl in with her dad buying a birthday cake for her mum. That’s tough to read, it’s exactly what my own little ones do. It’s when the 10 victims are named and we see they were just going about their day like any of us do, that it really hits home, and there’s nothing anyone can do to lessen the pain of their loss.
I really don't like when the tabloid media do that - someone dies tragically and they trawl Facebook for images of them.
It's the height of disrespect and makes my skin crawl.
Well in all fairness they didnt pull names out of a hat . They were already published elsewhere .
Very sad to see faces and names and families grieving for them .
Shocking how this could happen. The sense of sadness in Donegal, thoughts and prayers with those that lost loved ones.
That is not the point.
They probably trawled through their social media accounts to get the photos.
Gutter press.
Exactly as someone said above, total disrespect.
Really awful to see the photos.
