Zelensky didn't suggest pre-emptive strikes, that was a mistranslation. He was referring to sanctions, not "strikes" (it was mistranslation from Ukrainian).
I haven't read a single source which didn't clarify this, it was also later clarified by Zelensky.
It's all "Nothing to see here, move along". The regime cannot handle bad news or setbacks.
Zelensky never said pre-emptive strike. It was a mistranslation that has since been established.
Pretty sure that doesn’t mean we won’t again hear Zelensky called for preemptive strikes.
Full of cheer ain't you. Another new user reg spouting fire & brimstone. Kinda follows a pattern.
Time will tell whether a loaded train stresses the steel to breaking point and plunges into the sea. They really deserve everything that comes to them.
If I was driving across that bridge I'd make sure every window was wound down.
Shoigu has been fired about 20 times on twitter so far, it's the same level of news as "Belarus is about to enter the war".
If it's true that traffic is back flowing across the bridge again than the operation has been mostly a failure.
Only benefit will have been psychological instead of any practical benefit in disrupting supply lines.
That's not to say the bridge won't collapse down the line if structurally compromised.
But, if not it will probably also mean attacking it again to finish the job will be highly unlikely as security has probably stepped up 10 fold.
The operation was psychological, so how can it be deemed a failure?
Russia declared the bridge couldn't be attacked and half of Crimea panicked. Puttin again looks like a prat. Roaring success I reckon.
The Bridge is basically a massive lego kit, it would need to be hit in multiple locations and maintenance yards blown up too.
You would need NATO weaponry to destroy it.
Strange thing about the fire, something I've never seen before is the "shape" of the fire....it's circular, in a ring around the train. There are other pics which show it in even greater details. Strange phenomenon.
That's the disappointing thing about it. That was the moment to get it done and it's passed now. Unfortunately it appears they just didn't do quite enough damage. Won't get another chance.
Traffic isn't flowing....
It's not even funny
Is there any evidence the explosion on the bridge was actually done by Ukraine?
Have they claimed credit for it?
Given the type of equipment that has likely been transported across that bridge by the Russians i.e fuel, arms, weapons, ammo, etc could this just have been an accident or even sabotage.
Is it not weird how footage from cctv on the bridge has been leaked, or was that some public cam feed?
What an odd lesson to learn from all of this.
My feelings are the opposite - after this and the sinking of the Moscova it is clear that nothing Russian is safe from attack in occupied territory. The queue of cars at the Crimea ferry looking to escape think likewise.
They weren’t supposed to get a first chance 😂
Putin's response to his beloved bridge getting bombed - sign a decree, probably a few disappointed who wanted something more:-
The Rathkeale boys are on the way out with there Tarmacadam outfit. They have it fixed in no time.
What a **** great day. I'm smiling like a cheshire cat throughout the day after seeing that bridge on fire
Go wan Ukraine
Oblivious hammer 🔨 breaks sickle, so sickle has to break 🍾.I presume that it dangerous to have a hammer 🔨 if you have drank a 🍼
Big fire visible in Zaporizhzhia after Russian missile strike
First apparent view from underneath, pretty safe to rule out the bomb on a boat theory as there is no blast damage:-
Unlike these latest satellite pictures which show large blast marks across the decks:-
Pretty obvious the bomb on a truck is the likely source
Sickle beats vodka because you’re too busy working for the motherland to drink the devil’s buttermilk.
Even if Ukraine have failed this time that bridge will fall sooner or later. Putin is on the run 🏳️
They will be joining the tens of thousands of Syrian mercenaries and North Korean soldiers, no doubt.
”Jimmy” doesn’t look like the most reliable source now, does he?
The main intended effect is to make most Russian civilians still in Crimea panic and leave. That leaves mostly military targets in Crimea. There is one bridge out, otherwise it's a very, very long and dangerous drive through an active war zone. There's absolutely no doubt it will be a highly successful attack.
No, but lots of posts saying same.
To me, looking at the videos, the explosion was under the car deck. When the Russian military transports weapons and ordinance it is almost always by train. The explosion obviously wasn't on the train tracks.
