Large scale damage, photos look very serious.
Hopefully no fatalities or serious injuries, but hard not to imagine people will have been hurt in that.
Nobody is demanding to know what happened.
I'm sure the most senior fire and emergency experts have an idea what happened. I don't think you would need to be a fire expert to know it wasn't a fire. Also, I'm not trying to be rude or smart, a terrible tragedy.
Apart from the one that lands at UHL every few days
Jaysus that's some explosion to take out that whole section of the building
Yeah, pretty sure I've seen them land at Mayo hospital as well.
Galway too.
That tweet from Josepha Madigan is ridiculous. Twitter is an absolute cess pit and ripe for idiots like her to make stupid assumptions like that.
God help all the people trapped this looks really bad indeed. 😥
Oops sorry, my bad, can’t land at any Dublin hospitals, my apologies to all those outside of Dublin as yes in fact they can land there.
RTE report indicates some people trapped have managed to make contact
Proud of our emergency services, they do great work in really hard circumstances.
I was in that filling station a few days ago. I was parked in front of that door (apartment?) on the right hand side. I recall remarking to my passenger that the staff were excessively friendly in there.
wrong thread
Hope there are no fatalities.
That’s good to know. On RTÉ news the reporter said there is a woman waiting at the scene on news of her daughter who must be trapped. Her husband had already been transported to Letterkenny hospital. Sounds like dad was in the car or chatting to someone outside whilst daughter went in for the messages.
The nearest hospital to the Phoneix Park would be St. James's. And they have a burns unit. So it would make sense that people injured in Cresslough would be airlifted there.
There’s a military helicopter flying around Phoenix Park and done a few circles at Drumcondra. Would they be keeping airspace clear and watching road traffic?
Would think Blanch a lot nearer tbh and has there been any reports of a fire?
Blanchardstown doesn't strongly specialise in anything (well, geriatric care, but that isn't relevant for trauma); it does have an A&E but it isn't a referral centre for anything.
If people are being transferred to Dublin it is either for specialist care (which James/Beaumont/Mater/Vincents all do specific things of) or because LUH is overloaded, in which case there are closer hospitals.
People do not have to have connections to the victims to feel empathy. Not sure what you mean by "be honest" and "look deep in yourself".
This is not the time to be having a go at people for expressing their empathy to others in their own way. It may not be your way, but so be it.
Thinking of everyone involved.
Farmers on the front line clearing debris
That's fair enough.
I don't like what happened at all. I feel sorry for their loved ones. But hearing thoughts and prayers as a response irks me.
I can certainly have empathy if I was in their situation previously.
I hope to their loved ones find solace someplace that is healthy, but thoughts and prayers from boards users ain't it (how many of you prayer givers are practicing?).
The RTÉ Nine news was a tough watch, mention of a woman whose husband had already been removed to Hospital while the search continued in the rubble for her Daughter. An unimaginable anxiety.
Both the Reporters and a number of the Clergy interviewed were attempting to soften up people to expect news of fatalities and while they didn't speculate on numbers, its clear there will be a terrible aftermath for many.
I do hope the full resources of the State and the voluntary sectors will be organised to support the families, the community and the emergency services, many of whom are part-time and volunteers in rural parts and will who have never experienced something of this magnitude.
😢 😢 😢
They will be brought to centres of excellence for trauma care
Bad form on Late Late Show, not a mention of Creeslough
What a terrible ordeal for anyone who has loved ones trapped..
If this show is live then it’s very bad form. Pre recorded is the only valid reason for not mentioning it.
would it be normal to have apartments built beside a fillling station?
give it a rest ffs
Must be recorded. If not it's a disgrace.
Agreed, but are they not doing the live phone a viewer to win a prize after phoning in during airing. How could they l do that if it was recorded earlier?
