And another
The Polish army is 150k, the Germans 62k, the Czech and Slovacks another 50k. They may have preformed badly in war games ''against an eastern invader'' but that invader has been shown t be as useful as a hat of cats p!ss so I expect that any of them would have preformed as well as the Ukranian's.
The British army would have mopped the floor with the Russians in the first week. All these have a cadre of professional soldiers. The British have been involved in nearly every major military conflict rgat the US have been involved in for the last 50 years.
Yes and how is this going to play out in Europe and elsewhere. Not a great time to be pissing off your customers.
Many of these OPEC states have assets and interests in Europe and elsewhere. Could be a long hard look taken at them to see how they can be squeezed back and encouraged to be helpful.
Maybe he's trying his best to lose a whole heap of customers? Does he know where his customer base live?? Does he understand basic PR?
The polish army didn't preform badly that was all propaganda that came out of the Kremlin, and regurgitated on social media accounts and on here
There hasn't been much news about any more advances in Kherson or the east today or yesterday. I was hoping they would be able to keep advancing and driving the Russians back. It would be great if they could retake everything west of the Dnipro before winter.
Also the whole Musk thing unnerves me because it suggests the American right is tempted to stop supporting Ukraine.
The timing is fascinating.
Further evidence that bin Salman is dangerously stupid.
One of the first posts in my Twitter feed from less than 30 minutes ago.
Don't be silly. People aren't going to stop buying Tesla's because of musk. Did you stop heating your house or driving your car with Russian oil because of the war? Last time i looked the Saudi's are a bunch of cnuts but we love their oil also.
He is, but its important that the West make OPEC members suffer for their selfish insolence.
All military contracts should be immediately suspended, Us and UK. All appropriate weaponry sent to Ukraine.
What he just did was a giant fúck you to America and UK especially and an obvious gift to Puttin.
The West need to grab the nettle now, because there is no guarantees that in 15-20 years this fúckwit won't be doing his own version of Dictator of Year.
Nothing stupid about it - as US and EU move away from petroleum for fuel oil will be less and less a valuable commodity, so it makes sense to cut production and squeeze out as much money per barrel as possible.
Add to that it now gives them more leverage against US and EU, which OPEC could do with.
"The West" dont really have the leverage to make OPEC suffer
Calm down. Nothing of the sort will be happening. The US need to arm Saudi and the rest to combat the influence of Iran & the Houthis in the region - suspending any weapons to the gulf states would be the biggest own goal since... Biden depleted the US petroleum reserve ahead of US midterms, only to have OPEC cut production
OPEC have already cut production ages ago, so they're cutting production again but not supply. Supplies will most likely stay the same.
Yes I agree totally, the difference with posters here to Musk is the influence he has.
Im actually a big fan of spaceX and the work they have done. Just cant stand Musk and the rubbish he comes out with sometimes.
But they've kind of done that already, and it's one of the reasons that the Saudis cut oil production to spite the US. The US signed arms deals with Saudi Arabia in August, but the arms aren't being delivered and they've been pushed back down the queue as everything is (rightly) going to Ukraine. Remember, Saudi Arabia is involved in its own war in Yemen that has been dragging on for years, which they obviously see as a priority over Ukraine. They're miffed that they're not getting the same attention and priority that Ukraine is, so they're acting out.
The US argument is often that arms sales to Saudi Arabia give the US leverage in how the Saudis behave, and that they'd be even worse if they didn't keep them somewhat onside (which is a questionable analysis or position). I think they're seeing now that leverage can work both ways.
The USG has paid for about 1,500 of the 5,000 Starlink systems sent over, and none of the service fees. Space-X is $80mn in the hole, the USG covered about $10mn of it.
The US need to arm Saudi and the rest to combat the influence of Iran & the Houthis in the region
Not as much as the Saudis need them.
The arms deals are more about keeping economic stability than fending off crude attacks by Iran.
The Prince just changed the rules, there will certainly be a reaction.
Loads of military aircraft in the European skies todays. And these are only the ones that allow us to know they’re up there.
Saw a Russian military plane that went up and down between Moscow and Iran earlier too. Can’t remember what type.
They didnt "cut production" - OPEC sets quotas, and several members have not been able to produce enough to reach those quotas for some time. In light of that, and other factors they are cutting the quotas for a net reduction in global oil supply, of close to 800k barrels per day in real terms.
Supply is not staying the same.
The Yanks are not supplying Ukraine with patriots AFAIK.
Russian Tu-22 M3 bombers launched Kh-22 missiles from Belarusian airspace against Khmelnitsky region earlier today, for the first time since August
time to ban Belorussians from football yet?
OPEC+ cuts to oil quotas will be very interesting regards oil caps on Russian export - with global oil supplies set to contract, can EU really afford to do without Russian oil? If ceiling on Russian oil is below market crude prices elsewhere (gulf) then Russia could shift exports to other global buyers instead
Not yet, but the Saudis want to make sure that it stays that way - at least not at Saudi Arabia's expense. Ukraine are actively looking for them.
I wouldn't be so sure about that. Customer sentiment is very important in business and you're only as good as your last customer.
If you alienate your customer base or part of it, expect to see some drop in sales. Musk maybe a good entrepreneur but not so good a businessman.. It takes time to build up a customer base but far less time to lose it.
They had their boxing bans lifted along with the Zbois
I didn't see that one. Thanks
with global oil supplies set to contract
Economics 101.
Higher inflation, higher interest rates.
Demand contracts. As does trust.
The doozy Prince has fúcked himself. 🤷♂️
Yep, like I said suspend them immediately and send them to Ukraine.
The Saudis just sided with Puttin and instilled himself into the political situation in the US and the UK.
The response needs to be brutal.
IT's the only thing these clowns understand.
