Ive never been to the island so I have no idea what its like. There are 3 cars in the photo though which may suggest a car may be needed.
Why is a car needed? It’s on an island that you’d walk from one end to the other in an hour?? Electric bike would be plenty.
It looks like you may need permission to park in the field opposite the house aswell as there is nowhere to park 🤣. I just noticed the car parked in the field. You'd want to be crazy to pay €45K for that house.
Real problem is no room for a septic tank or waste water treatment. You would need to buy some land adjoining it. You want to have all your ducks in a row to have both sales going through at same time. You would probably pay the amount for land adjoining it
Looks like a place I'd love to buy with a few mates. Then it'd take 20 years to renovate, and we'd all have fallen out by the end. 😂
It's a bit ... cheek by jowl.
The side with the windows have a bungalow right up against it and the other side is right up against the road - No privacy at all. By the looks of it you would have no garden space or even room to park a car. I think they would need to give that house away to get someone to take it! I cant see any potential in it at all.
Its a pity - It could be a nice house if someone hadnt built an ugly bungalow within spitting distance of it.
Tempting for 45k
Looks like a continental drug dealer's house - furniture and decor is supposed to make you think they're a person of taste, intelligence and refinement, but really, they're just the (current) biggest murdering b*astard around.
The wife liked the shape of these lights. No idea why. 😀
She said it reminded her of something I used to have years ago. 😀
To be fair, they've done a good job on the construction and have made great use of the space. A bit of decorating and it'd be a lovely place. Different paint and wallpaper would do wonders for the house.
I love the way the classical columns beside the fireplace don't reach the ceiling.
I had the same thought - the decor is very overdone. The decor will date very quickly.
Holy mother of God!!
That's a fabulous renovation, to get 1000sq ft and a B rating in one of those old cottages is some achievement - but my goodness, whoever decorated and/or staged it must have had a taste bypass 🤣
That could be so classy..... but really, really isn't.....
Reminds me of Saul Goodmans house
I just burst out laughing when I got to the last pic although I was more or less expecting something like that. I don't think it's tacky but it's very overdone, there is too much going on in there for the size of the place.
What was it Dolly Parton said it costs a lot of money to look this cheap.
I was more thinking of bulletproof glass being difficult to break through to get to the people inside rather than stopping bullets.
All that place is missing to complete the tackiness bingo card is a golden toilet.
.....
An old schoolhouse for 15k. Bargain of the week?
how many burglaries in ireland involve firearms and in particular the discharge of firearms? I think a reinforced door is better than nothing.
Reinforced door in one side of the room. Window on the other side. Not the best panic room I would think.
Unless the windows are bullet proof glass etc.
It's an absolutely gorgeous house. One of the nicest I've seen on here.
I think you mean Bonfire day.
Ah, the StreetView lad just happened to pass by the day before bin-day.
That is a very beautiful house, wow. Great find!
I'm sure that will work well if there's a home invasion, and some guy in a balaclava is demanding to know where the jewellery and cash is.
"Please, remove that knife from my wife's throat. I've already built a wing in Trinity College, so you won't be needing any of my money."
This family don’t worry about losing their money. They’ve already built a donated enough money to TCD to build a new wing.
I agree. Many rich people are terrified of home invasion, kidnapping, robbery etc. They are worried they are targets, their kids etc. They are also worried about valuables so often cash safes and jewellery safes. The other big worry rich folks have is they may lose all their money and savings/ investments. The locks may help them sleep more soundly at night.
Maybe it is a security area in the house, re-enforced door with multiple locks to hide away if the house is broken into?
I am puzzled about the bedroom door in photo 13, are they different locks running up the door.
I was wondering that myself. Looks like it.
Absolutely beautiful house.
