Healey has improved game on game. Carbery has played in 2 games this season and has gotten worse in each game. How many chances do we give him to 'find form'
He was poor at the end of the last season too. Can't blame injuries anymore.
I think our best 10 is Crowley,
Carbery is behind Healy for me based on form
Healy has an excellent work ethic, he is definitely adjusting his play and I can see clear improvements game on game.

Can’t make that assumption so early in season …….some heap here have no patience …change isn’t going to happen overnight ….most likely be well into this season and into next before we see anything decent from what new management want

Casey impressed on these fronts despite playing behind a less dominant pack that JGP usually gets to play with
Need to see the "plan" starting to come together by December/January, that's plenty of time for a squad to start changing the way they've played Iver the last few years. I think the young lads will be key to this, all of them looked good today.
I am fully behind GR's new system. I am fully aware that there is an adjustment period where we'll struggle for results. I am saying that the selection decisions should be based on form, not on reputation.
The 'elite' players should have no problem getting into the team if they're still as good as they used to be
Some of these 'elite' players won't suit the new system and will need to be moved on.
To be fair to Rowntree, he has shown some inclination to back young lads so far.
Tho it’s very early days, so perhaps too soon to read too much into selections (especially with the emerging Ireland tour) but I think Zebo and Liam Coombes were both available 2nite for example?
Zebo and Liam need to fight for their place. If they're still good enough then they'll easily keep their spot
While I kinda agree with the sentiment it just seems like more rebuilding. Something that’s been going on since 2008. We need to be much better and I don’t see any improvement since the end of last season.
By backing youth Rowntree automatically buys himself more leeway and grace than if they are playing $hit with all the older established players.
It helps that some of these young players look like they can play.
Munster still haven't solved the front row problems but if they can get a tune out of the younger players coming through and potentially pick up 1 or 2 experienced front row players after the worldcup they could be in a decent position for next season.

Tactics and game plan are irrelevant when you have players making so many mistakes both unforced and under some pressure.
If there is a halving in the number of mistakes next week and the week after from last nights “performance” then it might not be enough to win, and it certainly wont be enough against Ulster and Dublin.
Lineouts need to be thrown straight, handling needs to improve. Tackles need to be made.
And worse still, has anything given you an indication that he wont reach 300?
I doubt Archer makes it to 300! One of the young lads will get minutes this year and take the jersey off him. At best Archer will be a sub. His contract is a one year deal. I think. It would be crazy if Munster can't produce or sign someone else.
I think Salanoa could be the next in line with Knox subbing.
Look Archer has been a great servant to the club, a one club man and he made it to international level which is no mean feat that can never be taken away from him.
A ruthless coach would have been rid of him a while back, i think the last two seasons its been obvious hes not going to be dominating in any area of the park and its been frustrating watching him to be honest. His contract extension into this year is a surprise to me because frankly i think he is completely past it.
What it also shows is that nobody has been able to get past him, or nobody has been so good that management have been able to have the conversation with him that he is surplus to requirements, and frankly from what i have seen so far knox doesnt look like he is going to be any great shakes. He doesnt get around the park well enough in the loose and hes not dominating any scrums either, maybe time will help him get fitter because he has been injured but im not full of optimism, and i dont think at his current level he will ever see international rugby here.
Against Zebre...JGP does it at test level and would look just as slick as Casey does against the 2nd worst team in the URC
(I'm a huge Casey fan btw and I think he's been one of Munster's best performers so far, but chill)

The season hasnt really kicked off. Carbery like many others wmay take time to find form.
What if anything are you basing Crowley being the best 10 on?
The Season kicked off 3 weeks and Carbery has played in 2 of those weekends
I would agree if Carbery was playing well at the end of last Season but he had lots of poor performances. He was given lots of chances to play himself into form but he never did. Preseason came and went and he's not showing any improvement
I think Crowley is our best 10 because he is a better ball carrier, is not such a predictable distributor, and he gets more involved as a playmaker than Healey has done up to now.
Healey is a very good player too and seems to be willing to learn and adapt and put in the hard work in training to improve his game.
I'm really hoping the 3 of them can push each other forward. We'll need all 3 10s to be performing if we want a successful season.
Carbery has a very high ceiling but he's way off that level at the moment for one reason or another. We shouldn't pick him on past form if there are promising young talent who are playing better than him right now
I don't think Munster could afford to cut Archer and Ryan at the same time.
Not sure why Ryan went ahead of Archer but perhaps Archer was considered a better mentor for the young lads or was playing at a higher standard.
I dont tjonk there is anything that shows Crowley is the better 10. Is a better ball carrier but Ben is far from predictable. Crowley plays a fair bit different at 10 but that doesnt make him a better option.
I think you are being harsh on Carbery and it is only 3 weeks and we're playing over the next 4 weeks. There will be loads of game time for each.
Joeys efforts at tackling the last night were rob kearney like. I counted three times in his sub appearance that he was way off.
He brought some impetus into the game when he came on, but for all of his influence it never appeared on the scoreboard.
I'm harsh on Carbery because he has a very high benchmark for success.
We've given him years worth of time to overcome his injuries and reach his potential. Now the ball is in his court. He needs to step up or get out of the way
I think it was a financial decision.Ryan was more expensive and archer is only supposed to be cover so a decision was made.
BTW. Archer has been an excellent servant for Munster. He might not be a world class tighthead but as a squad player he has served Munster very well and had some outstanding performances .
I'd definitely buy him a pint if I met him out some night. He seems like a really sound fellah who has always given it everything for Munster
In what season was his most recent outstanding performance?
James Cronin was cut, got no contract offer from Munster, and now seems to be starting for Leicester in the prem. Open to correction but appears to be first choice since Genge has moved on.
