Cheers. I signed up to it a few weeks back. Have got the welcome gift but think my first drop will be Q4
Dunnes Off licence Jetland Limerick got a delivery of seemingly 22 (-1 at least now) this morning.
Wasn;t hunting, pure coincidence, they are being stored in managers office....
Are people looking for the 2022? I have access to a lot through work if people want.
You’ll always have a few looking I’d say. I managed to get one. Are you selling it RRP?
I work in Shannon Airport and there was 20+ bottles sitting on the shelves today
I'd be interested, tried Dunnes, Suoervalu etc but never even makes the shelf. Missed the website sale with the fiasco in recent weeks also.
Are you local? Not sure how postage would work.
It's priced at €220.
It offered an option to buy mvr'23 when released... Basically, they would reserve a bottle for you, so you are guaranteed to be able to buy one.
Well, pretty local in Irish terms - Galway
I'd be interested in one!
Based in Dublin
Had a few people message me, I'm fairly clueless about the posting of alcohol through An Post.
Could someone clarify the rules on it?
Stock levels as of about 3 minutes ago
Saw this thread trending on the main page - which reminded me of a (2013) bottle of this I got as a wedding present - which has sat in its box on a shelf ever since.
I had planned to have a glass to mark special occasions but 3 kids and almost 10 years later it remains untouched!
Is this something that maintains its value/quality over time or does a time come where I should either drink it or sell it?
As you can tell I’m not a whiskey aficionado 😉
At this months Irish Whiskey Auction it went for €620-770 a bottle.
Sell it at auction and buy something else you like to drink.
It will hold indefinitely in the sealed bottle, neither improving or getting worse.
That vintage will probably continue to increase in value as it is from before the current trend of collecting this whiskey started.
Cheers all for the sound advice.
Increasing in value 3-4 fold in 10 years is a pretty sound investment all the same.
Indeed, but I don't think recent vintages will have anything like that increase due to the vast number of collectors!
It is indeed. I'd hold on to it if I were you, I had no interest in whiskey when I came into possession of my grandfathers whiskey bottles, and had an idea to sell them at some stage so they are still sitting here unopened (he passed away nearly 15 years ago).
I didn't sell for sentimental reasons at the time, always seemed to soon, but now that I've been educating my palette for a few years (hard work but someone has to do it!) I think I will open them some day and enjoy/reminisce with some others in the family who appreciate whiskey. With three small children, you've a few milestones in life ahead hopefully with the opportunity to share that bottle.
Do a few whiskey tastings would be my advice, so you can enjoy it if/when you do open it.
You could try out a pack like this to let you know if it’s worth it or not. Won’t be the same Whiskey but similar styles

Anyone aware of any of the 2022 available anywhere? (other than Shannon Duty free!)
Dublin Duty Free 😜.
😂 Thank you 😂
Anywhere else?
Carolan's Corner Off-Licence North Circular Road had a few bottles, not sure of years.
Don't know where any 2022 is still available, but would anyone out there be willing to trade?
I have an extra 2022 that I'd love to swap for any other MVR from recent years.
Bit of a longshot I know but pm me if anyone's interested.
Bought a bottle in Dublin duty free for €200 last night (was flying to UK).
Bow street shop had it at 2pm Sunday2/10(Saw it myself). Saw on facebook that Brown Thomas also had it. Also a couple of Dunnes around Dublin reported to have it. (facebook again)
For something that’s called very rare, it doesn’t appear to be very rare this year. They must be ramping up production to meet demand.
They should call it Midleton hard to get.
Agreed it's not very rare, but it is limited and hard to get.
I was only talking about this yesterday.
It's a bit of a balancing act for midleton. Demand is higher than supply, but if production goes up to match that demand then the product loses perceived value.
Am I right in thinking that the quantity of bottles released isn't publicly known?
Used it be known in previous years?
