That just looks like lads having a final blow out before they go to war, they're not even in uniform. If there was mobilization here our buses would be the same.
A lot of truth in that, though the likes of General Mark Hertling says he is absolutely appalled and disgusted to see images of drunken Russian troops. He says he would personally court martial and kick out of the army any soldier who was drunk on active duty and while wearing the national uniform.
Getting serious now ... :)
In fairness, if you thought you were going to the front and facing the very real possibility of (hopefully swift) death, the temptation to get absolutely bladdered on the bus there would be understandable. Being drunk on the battlefield itself is more the problem.
So pointless. Putin is a sick sick man. It's the ultimate sign of an utter arsehole that he knows his army is a rolling joke so they resort to attacking innocent men, women and children. 😡
On the BBC rolling coverage. At least 20 killed, half of them children. Everyday a new nadir:
The Russian troops hearts aren't in it. They are being now told to fight to the death and not retreat. Not a chance in hell they hold out as long as the Avozstal defenders.
Looks like Busaras inside a bus.
More drunken Russian troops. It's very evident that one of the main reasons they are losing this war is because of how unprofessional and disorganised they are. There's no way an army of alcoholics could ever form an elite fighting force.
3-5k Russians in Lyman is clearly an absurd number. Even if the number was 100-200 left behind and captured, it would indicate serious problems in the Russian military.
If large numbers of Russian troops are holed up in Lyman, it'll be very interesting to contrast their resistance with that of the Avozstal defenders.
My guess is that they'll surrender in large numbers.
Shocking. Any links?
..
Which one?
Another 20+ civilians killed in an attack on a civilian convoy in Kharkiv this morning
Looks like some Russian soldiers stole some civilian vehicles and got ambushed while trying to get away.
Am hoping we see more videos like this indicating a disorderly withdrawal.
Ukrainian forces geolocated at the north and south of Lyman, that should be the town liberated now.
Best guess now is that the Russians will fall back to the next best line of defence around Kreminna.
They turn them on to send a warning to the enemy.
Basically to show 1) we can see what your doing or 2) if you **** around, you will find out.
They still have to operate safely regarding air traffic control so that's a lot of it. Often it is deliberate. Basically telling your enemy "here I am, no cares given that you can see me. I want you to see me, so you know what's ranged against you". Plus unless we're dealing with actual stealth aircraft the enemy radars can already see them.
I just saw a video of 5 pigs eating a dead Russian soldier. Here's something else-
This suggests that the last road out of Lyman may finally be cut.
Don’t have a lot of military knowledge but can someone explain why military aircraft and navy vessels would kept their ATIS’s anything other than off……surely letting the world and its mother as well as enemy knowing your exact position and movements in real time is about as much as a military ‘own goal’ that you could possibly score….?
This is another unit from yesterday Stavky near Lyman, orc's are either all dead or retreating???
No more retreating...
That got old really fast 🤣
Can only imagine the losses on both sides are vast.
Welcome to Lyman
Another pro Nazi thread nuked 💥
They can either be shot in the front or in the back.
Might as well go down swinging.
The Russian declaration was another nail in the coffin for Japan, the atomic bombs were damn near the entire lid. They blinked after the first bomb fell, but were still at the "this surely couldn't be a single weapon, could it" stage. The second detonation cleared that up. IIRC at the time the US didn't have enough fissile material for a third one, or it would have taken time to get it together. The majority of the huge cost of the Manhattan project went on refining the material. Though funny enough it wasn't the most expensive weapon of the war, that would be the development of the B-29 Bomber which dropped the first two bombs.
The Allies flattened German cities(which Comrade Stalin was 110% behind) and Germans kept on fighting, but it seems the psycholigical impact of one horror device outweighs tens of thousands of them, even if they achieve the same aims.
Now the US could have dropped the bomb(s) on outlying islands of Japan and likely would have the same effect, plus they got to test out the new bomb's operational logistics and test out two competing designs for the bomb.
Russians definitely putting up a fight. Looks like the days of retreating are over.
