Not sure what they are looking for here, a housesitter?

Indeed - seems a shame to have so little outside space with a house in a rural setting. The view from the balcony will probably be blocked by coaches full of tourists all summer too given its on the ring of Kerry.
The stone altar/kitchen island is a clever repurposing but would be lethal with small kids running around.
That Lismore house has been really well done. Nice part of the country too.
They did well to shoehorn a waste treatment system into that back-yard.
Wasted potential there. Tacky kitchen and red tiles, showers and awful carpets. It looks like the money ran out after the actual building was restored and most of the decoration and finishing touches were done on a budget, either that or it was a rental/Airbnb.
Could they have had a pergola or other covering on this balcony and these are the remains of the anchor points for that?
You'd be hard pressed not to hold the hands out and say "Body of christ" every time you made a sandwich
Looks tacky to me. Not what I'd consider to be a 'sympathetic' restoration or decoration.
Altar looks great for performing human sacrifices while making the tea.
They look to be arrange symmetrically on the decking, and the decking itself is cut where the stone things are
Very strange whatever it is
I think it's just a pile of small stones arranged as part of an art piece.
I was thinking drainage at first but their locations don't really make sense to me. There doesn't seem to be a gutter on the middle section of the roof that overhangs the decking. You'd imagine any drainage holes would be under there rather than what appears to be random locations in the decking.
"The house retains many of its original features such as two of its original church-stained glass windows, Valentia Island Slate alter now becomes its Kitchen Island and its original tower bell, being used as its doorbell."
Imagine someone rings the bell BONG the entire neighbourhood is woken up thinking they need to head to mass, in fairness it does look isolated.
@BattleCorp I would think they are a connection to the downpipe for drainage, they are very odd.
A fat fcuker like me would have difficulty accessing those drawers/cabinets near the altar/table.
Maybe I'm being thick but what are these in the decking?
There's a lot going on here, a real mix of style and taste, but in a gorgeous setting.
That's stunning, a very sympathetic renovation and tasteful decor.
Those stairs are definitely not compatible with the booze displayed in that pic
It's nice except I could never live in a house with a stairs with an unprotected edge. I'm a clumsy fcuker so I'd be over that edge in no time.
That is really lovely and Lismore is a beautiful heritage town. The cottage has a very cosy feel to it.
Stick the other kid in the attic room. Be grand.
It's two bedroom only. Beautiful house but not really a potential family home.
I lived atop a mountain and loved it... Wonderful views... Near enough to Carrick on Shannon etc
Thank you. That makes sense. I always wondered..
This one is quite nice
Yes i'd imagine the amount of normal individuals wanting to build both sides of a semi-D for themselves and also extend them massively into the back garden is very small
Thta is effectively a development site. Is it incorrectcly priced, I say yes it overpriced to double it value. What will a small builder pay for it is another question.
Oops :) thanks.

Wrong thread ...!
Thread title needs updating "who'd live in a crack den like this?"
