The pipeline out of the picture means that there is no incentive for the EU to lift sanctions, ever. How does that benefit Russia? I’m sure there is a way, I just can’t figure it out.

After Sept 11, when the hunt was on for Bin Laden, they dropped "conventional" bombs on the mountains where he and Al-Quaida were thought to be hiding out. The result was that the vibrations penetrated so deep into the mountain, that the survivors who emerged from the deep cave's, were all bleeding from their ears and nose. With that kind of power, what would you need Nuclear for? And that was more than 20 years ago.
