Caught up on the new series yesterday evening. Wasn't overly impressed when the conversation came up about the cost of living and struggles. They all sitting there on big sofas supplied to them for free, big tvs also probably provided free for the show. From what we see of their living rooms most seem to have nicely decorated houses.
Ashbourne family still hasn't done anything for me.
The new brother and sister didn't do anything for me either.
Who do you think is providing the free sofas and free tvs?
I think you are finding faults where none exists. The Ryans havn't changed their sofa. The two cavan lads changed from one sofa to two arm chairs a few years ago.
And you never see their TV so you have no idea how big or small they are.
@ Sunny Dayz
Counting other people's money is a very small minded trait.
I stand corrected but I thought I'd read somewhere that DFS had sponsored sofas? I could be wrong...
Ah the Cavan lads always look so relaxed and comfy, and their socks!
I've only noticed in this new season that they started showing the tvs - that's what made me wonder were they being sponsored...
you can always apply to go on the show if you think it is that well paid
I think the new families will need a few more weeks before we can tell!! I’d say it’s pretty hard to get used to tbh
The Irish one is so short it’s hard to get to know the people in one series, the U.K. and Australian ones are much longer
Have John and David anything else to contribute besides being gay and what fellas they fancy?
If you take away comments like
["A shur he's a roide"
Or
"I wouldn't be kicking him out of bed for eating toast, wha"]
I wonder is there anything else going on in their lives besides thinking and talking obsessively about sex.
Has they ever actually said any of those things? Like.. at all??
Wife: I carry a lot of emotion on my hips
The look on the husbands face was priceless.
Isn't he one of the lads from the previous series. Cooley Peninsula?
Haha that was funny! I found them quite good tonight the other new family were good too probably settling in a bit more now. Didn’t get to see much of the cabra girls which was sad but lots of the women from the liberties!
funny episode all and all!
I would never have thought the Oxana one was Russian
Yes!
Oxana is a common Russian name. Russian features and the slightest hint of a slavic accent.
None of those clues tipped you off?
I could honestly do without the girl and her big dad on the sofa, don't find them entertaining at all.
I can't see that new couple lasting at all.
Who the new brother and sister? They haven’t said much yet. I think they’ll all need more time tbh but I don’t mind any of them I’m warming to the Cooley lad and the wife and the other new family were funny last night too I thought
No 😁
Yeah I'm not fond of the father/daughter either.
I'm not the biggest fan of watching people eat and he's always shoveling something into his mouth.
I kinda like them. The dynamic between them I feel is quite like many father /daughter relationships in Ireland (IMO).
I suppose the whole point is to show different dynamics and different personalities otherwise it would be boring. She comes across a bit fake sometimes but then again we don’t know her so that may just be how she is as a person! I think the segment on the pill with the two of them was a good show of what relationships like that are like
I watched it out of curiosity last night on catchup, the episode before last, and David said '...he'd mount' Paul Hollywood from GB Bake Off. I can understand a retired housewife saying they find Paul hot but not a young person, because PH isn't all THAT.
Later John said it was a wonder they didn't get beaten up when staying in a Chelsea hotel where a hoard of football fans were also resident. I though that was a crass thing to say, even said in jest.
Their 'act' is of course all about their identity, which I find a bit old fashioned and tedious.
Yer Cooley lad's wife is a dosage.
All their drinks and food are sponsored, so are the tellys and Virgin digi boxes.
I wouldn't be mad about the girl and her father either.
By 'new couple' do you mean the lad with the long hair and the girl? They seemed like brother and sister. They were quiet at first but showed some potential. I reckon we should give people a bit of a chance to settle in.
How in Barbara and Janet sisters? They look nothing alike!
Siblings don’t always look similar
