Given what Putin has been saying, he must afford very little credit to this general and instead view him as a NATO proxy. It'll be something interesting to pick through after this conflict ends, how much direct influence NATO have on Ukrainian battlefield decisions. Whatever gets Russia defeated in this is a means to an end.

Nuclear devices are often detonated as an 'air burst' so they do not have to rely on actually hitting a target physically.
The explosion is so massive it can happen in/around/above the target.

They also require precision systems to make them go off. If the U.S. could hit a nuclear missile en route to its target, it wouldn't necessarily result in a nuclear explosion, though there would presumably be fallout from the destroyed radioactive material in the missile.

Exactly yep - my main point being that the altitude the likes of Iron Dome intercept rockets at is likely well below the altitude an airburst nuclear explosions are actually detonated.

No body currently has hypersonic nuclear weapons the one Russia (hypersonic) was debunked as air launched cruise missile.

These days he just seems to be a military blogger but he's shown a lot of insights - mostly by consistently questioning & criticising the tactics of the Russian Military in this war. WW3 means the world is at war, but that's not the same as a nuclear attack or even nuclear war between two countries. I suspect most countries will stay well clear of WW3. Even so, war between the west and Russia would be serious.
