Ukraine may have lost a lot of officers, but they would have a better pool to replenish from. Russia's officer core is ****.
Russia's only advantage in this battle, is the sheer quantity of armour they can throw at the Ukraine forces. And the fact they have no care for their soldiers. They will expend as many lives as they need.
Ukraine are better trained, better motivated. People talk about them being supplied with western weapons, but remember, the quantity of western weaponry they have received is quite small. Can you imagine if there was no limit to what the west would supply!
I'd quibble the fully functioning bit but anyway. I've a russian shotgun here so I know they're built for revolutionary peasant 1.0 operators. I'll have theAr any day but not if it's been treated like the AK then **** that I'm heading for the rear comrade 🤣
@Perseverance The Second Whilst Ukrainian estimates are usually grossly inaccurate as you would expect. .
They are usually spot on
There would be one hell of a run on the Christmas Poitin in Connemara if you let those lads in judging by some of the videos popping up.
Looks like another Bad day for the Russian airforce
Whilst Ukrainian estimates are usually grossly inaccurate as you would expect. The fact that two prominent Russian Milibloggers (including one that specifically trumps up the Russian Airforce) points towards this being a bad day is certainly intriguing.
If a deal is done, and Ukraine give up some of their eastern land, then they could get to keep all their coast, and become full EU members, and full Nato members as part of the deal.
And Nato should be doing a deal never to invade Russia, I mean only the freak Putin thinks they want to , so why not write it in large crayon and stick it to his large forehead so he gets the message.
Seems appropriate, after the middle earth inspired map of Ukraine during the week.
Tell that to the Lads for getting a bolt action mosin nagant from the trenches of ww1 to go fight against the Ukrainians .
I'd rather the ak ,it might not shoot but at least you have some fighting chance
There is no doubt about it Putin is going all out now.
But what for? Against HIMARS? It's the 21st century war....
Give it to the lad behind you to test fire first.
Most AKs were never accurate to begin with, iron sights are too close to be accurate they are even worse shooting full automatic,
They are Also built with lose tolerances compared to AR15, or Anything from Heckler and Koch in Germany.
Some basic cleaning and oiling you would have a fully functional rifle in 20 min's
I wonder, if it is really a plan B of Putin, now doing genocide of other ethnic groups in Russia sending them for sure death in Ukraine. This hidden point was just about it, about doing this mobilisation in other regions. There they have much more kids than Russians, so in future the proportions of nations would change in favour of these other ethnic groups as well as other religions. I think it is the best, though very cruel way of keeping Russian federation together.
Russia has other forces like Rosgvardia, but they don't use them much in Ukraine. They are to keep other places under control. Instead they prefer to send unexperienced people to Ukraine to kill them there or to put them in Gulags.
These people from remote parts of Russia have no self-preservation instinct, if they agree for this...
As ubiquitous as EWTN but I somehow manage to never see that either.
If it were cleaned up I'd say it would fire......... What I'd be afraid to do is have my life depend on it. What's happened inside that barrel, I don't know how accurate that rifle is supposed to be but I'm thinking substantially less is a possibility now, how is the gas system operation, what small but crucial part would bend, break, or fail just when you needed it 😣

That decree that Putin passed into law said absolutely nothing about a "partial" mobilisation or that only military reservists could be called up (meaning he lied through his teeth in that TV address).
Looks like Dr. Evil with hair.
I knew him from somewhere
Putin must be micro managing.
This creature doesn't even look human
Ah I was interested to see if had a bit of the cupla focal but looks like no. Lots of amadáns in here you see.
''now you get down there to that voting office and tell everyone how much you wanna be Russian''
Look at the state of the weapons that being handed out to the Russian draftees! I'd be scared to fire that!
Not sure if it has already been posted.
Saw a short clip of sky news Moscow correspondent this evening. She was at the protests. Almost all women because any men protesting are sent to the war.
She mentioned rumours swirling around at the moment are that after the sham referendums in Ukraine that Russia will close its borders entirely to all men of fighting age. And new elements brought in to law, mobilisation is mentioned , not partial and the word is 1 million could be mobilised not the partial mobilisation. Also harsher punishments for Russia troops who surrendered.
Whatever happens I dare say, the world will be a very different place by Christmas '22.
That would make Saturday night in Temple Bar very interesting.
Substantial money will come in to rebuild, favourable trading terms with EU etc. Seized Russian assets to partly fund. Lots of 'western businesses' will make money out of it too. Investment will be key to rebuilding and giving citizens decent lives. That solves a lot of problems - just look north here.
As for the Russia export economy = tumbleweed.
No thanks, you may send them to Dublin
Even if/when Russia is defeated, this can be put in the 'win' column for them. They've sent Ukraine back a decade, at least, and haven't had (and are unlikely to) anything near a similar amount of material damage.
Sure, Russia will be a pariah for some time while Ukraine gets rebuilt but they have inflicted a horrendous amount of damage and iit'll be interesting to see the long-term consequences. Could we be seeing Ukraine develop into somewhere like Bosnia?
Obviously on their way to the polling station.
Looks like Ukrainian Air defenses have had a busy day.
