Since one of the last IOS updates, my IPAD has gotten very fussy about charging cables, had some great cables that have ceased to work only with the iPad. So check out cables before throwing out your charger.
Just home, party central here, now they did tell me that all the buddies were gathering here before a birthday party in a nearby pub, I'm wondering if they'll actually make it to the party, very high spirits atm...I really don't mind as they rarely do it but on the other hand I just want to chill out , the music is shite too...am I just a cranky oul wan.βΊοΈπ
Strictly on the tv, snoodie on and snacks to hand, a wild night is happening π
In Killarny, pre- pints for Morrissey gig !
It is. Doesn't stop me from going out in a t-shirt and shorts π
Mozzer's in my county?
My friend just left after a very much needed visit. Itβs been a long time since I cried when I saw someone. It was really great to see her again and just talk for a while π₯Ή
Oh, and the iPad is charging now π
Delighted @thomil π€
Great stuff thomil π if anyone deserves a break at the minute it's you.
Wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
I wish I lived in Cork, I'd honestly call in to see you @thomil
Keep posting here and there will always be one of us online.
I hope you get home soon @thomil and delighted you saw a friendly face.
We'd be outside the window with little signs with our boardsie names on !
Delighted you had time with your friend @thomil , onwards and upwards from here on π
Such a lovely group of people in here. Does anyone else feel this thread has finally gotten back to the vibe it used to have?
You've been through a lot, @thomil, I'm not surprised it's hitting you emotionally. Hopefully you'll be out of there soon. Sending you booby hugs.
It used to be absolutely brilliant, so funny you'd genuinely be skitting, its definitely changed hugely but I think that's typical of everything online and irl.
Anyway I'm on Spotify, still wont sign back up but will have to shortly before I lose all my marbles...I'm on a Joan Jett and Stevie Nicks vibe with a bit of Mark Knopler thrown in, interesting trio lol..probably end up with my old faithful Phil ππ
Yep π !
So nice to see it back again π
I'd deliberately call myself someone else for divlememt π
I'd sit on the bed having a drink, the porters would have to drag me out. π€£π€£π·πΈπΉπΊ
This thread has definitely gotten its mojo back! From sausage rolls to hedge trimming to supporting each other and the level of activity in the thread.
Thank you for all your support. It really helped me a lot π€π€π€
Anyone know how to tell a German 3 year old to shut the fup up before I kill him? Am babysitting my niece and my bro-in-law's friend is here withe his little boy. They just got back from the wedding my sis is at and the wee man is having a melt down. Am scared he will wake Poppy after I apparently performed a miracle by getting her to sleep before 8 pm.
Have you Calpol ? π
Just keep shouting nein, that's about the extent of my German.
@thomil might give better advice!
Probably overtired.
Whiskey ?
For meltdowns, distraction to snap out of it and a soft soothing reassuring voice usually works a treat for me but I'm sure you've plenty of tricks up your sleeve too witchie.
Unfortunately, most of my suggestions would violate a whole raft of laws across multiple jurisdictions, especially since I donβt know the kid in question. Nein is generally a good starting point though ππ
Achtung ππ Das is Forboden π spell check is not working well ππ
Wild Saturday night, Alfie is snoring here, Lucozade is flowing and Hunky Dory sour cream and onion crisps are looking at me πππ
I've my house back to myself again, about 30 of them just vacated, lots of mixers left here but only 2 bottles of drink, also someone forgot a vape. Great to see that no one here tonight is a smoker apart from myself, they really seem to hate cigarettes.
Sad thing about meltdowns is that they can be equally distressing/upsetting (in different ways) for both the child and the adult dealing with it. I think anyway.
They are so distressing when you see them happening and your heart goes out to the child and adult involved and at the same time you can understand the frustration involved.
... Hunky Dory sour cream and onion crisps ...
Ooh, I luuuurrrrve them! But, an open bag is an empty bag with me, so I rarely buy them these days.
