Never heard of him but yes, I'm suspicious of him because he is so sure of himself.
How would I possibly know? I wouldn't, I'm not a Russian bomb-maker. The same way you don't know jack either because you're not a Russian strategist so wind your neck in.
What I do know is that we supply infrastructure through our data centers here to a lot of US Federal services and that makes us a viable target, be it at sea or through cyber warfare, we are definitely a target regardless of what you think.
(Edit for clarity)
The US is funding a lot of the arms being sent to Ukraine, if Russia knows whats being spent and where it's being spent they can plan in advance for what may hit them down the road. Information is power - They can also then target whatever companies are producing the most effective tool against Russian aggression rather then going directly for USA and causing WW3.
I didn't say they were specific to undersea Cables .
I just confirmed that they existed at some point.
Oh they're bult properly all right its just that they are a dual purpose item, just like windows.
considering all these incidents were in international airspace, there is nothing stopping an air launched first strike other than 100% solid intel as it would mean a Russian bomber being shot out of the sky.. but yes, it would be a one time only scenario
Why can't they build proper stairways in Russia? Another former Putin ally dies after 'falling down several flights of stairs' as eight cronies are mysteriously killed | The Sun
The Australians/New Zealanders had these "self opening tins" in WW1:
There's probably nuclear versions now.
This should be sufficient for all your tin opening needs
After the nuclear war they'll all be looking to you to open up the preppers' stocks of tinned corned beef
In the apocalypse, the man with the nuclear tin-opener is god
Because Russia are evil supervillains who can waste money on nuclear mines, but also are incredibly poor and under resourced and all their nukes are dusty old weapons that dont work and they cant even arm their conscripts..🙄
This thread often delves into the walter mitty, nuclear sea mines on the continental shelf is another such foray
Nuclear tin-opener? Don't get me started. I'd only bought two of them when they all started using those tins with ring pulls
It is a ridiculous suggestion and yet greenpilot sticks by the statement Russia depolyed Nuclear sea mines near the Irish coast .....
Taking out fibre on one route shuts little to nothing down - traffic can be re-routed with agreement from carriers and this is the just the public cables.
But why would you use a nuclear sea mine to destroy an undersea cable? What advantage would it have over other means, that would justify the massive expense of its development, maintenance and deployment?
I mean, a nuclear tin-opener isn't beyond the realms of possibility either, but why would anyone make or use one?
Ofcourse the undersea cables are a target... no one is denying this
I am focussed on the word NUCLEAR ... which would be a big issue... That is if they even exist... I researched this and found nothing on any country having developed nuclear sea mines let alone deploying these fictional weapons near a ''neutral'' country during peace time. I pushed the poster who suggested this weapon might be deployed by Russia to provide some evidence.. and I am still waiting for an anwser
Elon Musk to the rescue
Remember wonder waffen ,
The idiocy needs to stop here:
Moscow has two primary means by which it could directly threaten the cables: submarines and surface vessels that can deploy autonomous or manned submersibles. An example of the former was the Losharik spy submarine, which—before a tragic fire in 2019 decommissioned it—likely had the deep-sea capability necessary to map or destroy undersea cables. While the Losharik is being repaired, the Russian Navy has other such submarines and is developing unmanned undersea drones, such as the nuclear-powered Poseidon. As for surface ships, the most famous is the Yantar, which is ostensibly a research vessel but is understood to act as a spy ship that could deploy underwater submersibles to attack and destroy sections of cables.

Why the f**k would they use a nuke when all they would need is a large wire cutters and a submersible.
Just because American didn't go with them it doesn't mean Russia bastion of honestly and Respect for international rules didn't,
We've had everything from nuclear artillery shells and landmines and RPGs why not sea mines , Russia has touted authomnus underseas drones Capable to lunching nuclear weapons.
It's not beyond the realms of possiblity
Those underwater cables are his number one priority and essential to him winning the war. He put the plan into action last year when he managed to bribe boards.ie admins to move hosting across the Atlantic. All he needs to do now is blow up the cable and Europe is fucked. NATO won't be able to get updates from this thread and all intelligence will be lost.
fucked.
You actually think the undersea cables are just for broadband?
In the picture you posted under the sea nukes it says "This weapon was experimental and never went into production." Sorry but it all sounds conspiracy.
Russia is having trouble feeding its own troops and supplying them with jeeps and tanks. Putins generals and advisors keep falling out of windows accidentally and parts of the Russian army are currently occupied with shooting their own troops who are deserting. I doubt Putin is worried about boradband lines off the coast of Ireland given the internal problems he is managing in his governmental and military hierarchy.
Nobody is saying that there are mines 100%, but theres is a chance they planted something there. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't, we don't know, but you cant claim they are not there
If they managed to get Kiev or topple Zelensky in the first couple of days they might have had enough with 200k ... They didnt want Ukraine via a massive invasion.
What a bunch of clowns, if they wanted to take Ukraine they should have invaded with 500k at the start not 190k and now dribs and drabs for the next decade it looks like. It's like they came up with a strategy to maximize their losses.
In fairness he did and when pushed on it he put me on ignore
What do you want me to disprove ?
The existence of fictionel nuclear sea mines of the Irish coast ?
Is he still going on about my theory on the Sea mines? I have him blocked, so I thankfully cannot see him. Jesus, some folks just cannot let a thing go, eh?
Dont see any mention of underwater cables.
possible targets described include bridges, dams, canals, tunnels, airfields, railroad marshaling yards, ports and industrial plants, and power facilities
Tell me, do you use a sledge hammer to crack a nut?
Russia/Pitin needs to fall from within and Russians themselves need to do that rather than flee. A load of unwilling conscripts may well be the touchstone and we have to hope this is the case. It's tough but enough is enough.
