Of course it can be true, the Ukrainians are only selectively releasing real time news and information. They even have complete news blackouts when about to make a big move.
Imagine how someone will feel when he sees this formerly of ballsbridge Dublin
Thanks for that. It says, I just read the bit below...
Now, the current Azov battalion is much less of a neo-Nazi formation than it was, but there’s still remnants of neo-Nazis in that battalion. And that’s the one little tiny piece of Ukraine where this neo-Nazi sort of propaganda has a slight bit of truth.
Where have heard this long term grinding war of attrition stuff before, oh yes, it was right before the Ukrainian command said F* that and decided it wasn't for them.
Is this PR acceptable to Russians?
What about this PR for Russians?
PR for Russians.. everyone sees right through you.
Fookin Russian state is the modern day nazism.
Complain about Z's being painted on vehicles and invading a foreign country and targeting it's citizens and in our own country cars being driven on parade with Z flags flying.
It wasn't even a swastika but a cross.
This is where the thread has been purposely dragged to for sport and misdirection.
Not by you @Gatling
There were more Nazis in the Russian battalion merc grp Wagner. The jews in the Azov seemed not to mind probably far right in their eyes.
Western medias reporting was different before the war
Ukraine has a far right problem and Russia is wrong for their illegal invasion.
There is video evidence of Ukrainian troops in the village of Bilohorivka. That's only 2km from Lysychansk.
Cleary that's in the daytime so was likely recorded many hours ago. It's not inconceivable that they have taken Lysychansk but it still seems like a big leap (unless the Russians didn't even put up a fight). Hopefully some confirmation will come out for sure by tomorrow morning.
...
The war has already undergone a period of grinding attrition through most of the Summer as Russia attempted to shell its way across the Donbas. If neither side collapses, it's likely that we'll see more periods of it if forces attempt to dig in to try and hold what they have. It's not simply a case of Ukraine deciding not to play that game - they had the intelligence and tactical agility to exploit a relatively weakly defended area of Russian occupation and did so quite ably. In places more heavily defended, it's always going to be that much more of a slog.
One factor in favour of being able to capture Lysychansk quickly is that.....well, there's actually not much of it left after the Russians reduced it to rubble with their artillery prior to taking it during the summer. Same goes for Sievierdonetsk.
The russians will have a field day over anything.
At this point, we shouldn't really be worrying about their feelings.
Good progress, but in itself not a front-shattering advance like last week. Bilohorivka would be about 3km behind the current front lines.

Russians seem to be having a bad time. Here's a translated intercepted call.

Article from June speculating how theft of grain fitted in with the Russian military.
Watch out for the painted cross.
The Russian public will appreciate this.
No they don't for most part ,as pointed out by a American ,you have neo Nazis in the US military and this has been proven,
Does that make the US military far right Nazis .
No
Just as a minority in Ukraine may have extremist views it doesn't make the whole of Ukraine neo Nazis.
Some media have claimed even in the videos posted as some kind of Nazi militia, there not they are full time Ukrainian military under the control of the Ukrainans, they literally single handedly defended Mariupol against the Russian military 8 years ago,
Ukrainans defending Ukraine against foreign invaders ,
I mean the Russians are as bad as Nazis so it's all moot anyway. Russians Nazis, what's the difference?
And why would they need to care about Russian PR? The Russians are at the mercy of 100% state controlled propaganda, they will all be receiving the same message as mandated by their dictator. So forget pr, all that can be done is pressure, military and economic, grind them down, the west can do this for 50 years with sanctions, can Russia?
For the record, the split straight cross is pretty much identical to the national identification marking of German armored vehicles in WW2 (Balkenkreuz). The Tatzenkreutz found on today’s vehicles and aircraft is a post-war development.
Thats the vehicle historian in me speaking. The current affairs me would observe that there are only so many ways one can draw a cross, especially on a vehicle equipped with ERA bricks, so if it looks similar to a WW2 marking, who cares?
Absolutely, both things can be true at the same time.
Don’t be trying to make an issue out of nothing - there is an extremely serious war going on
Especially in the context 'bad for Ukrainian PR.' As far as I can tell, Ukraine is doing very well 'PR'-wise outside of the RuSSian state media. Now, maybe there's where this 'bad for PR' idea came from, but Ukraine's winning the PR war, and their military has been tooling around with crosses painted on things for awhile.
Its not like they had the decals guy come out and decorate the tanks, it was painted on with a brush. They should have had the battalions SJW come and inspect it prior to putting it back in service.
(not aimed at you btw, just the absurdity of the entire conversation)
Maybe it is a case of "If you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth".
If only the claimant could show screenshots of these symbols and explain their claimed association - shouldn't be too difficult if vehicles are covered in such symbols.
Yet they have failed to show any substance to their claim and merely repeat it ad nauseum. I wonder why. 🙄
Back in spring all the talk was of Putin being terminally ill/having Parkinson's/having suffered a stroke. Then it all stopped. Now for some reason it's starting again. Who knows, time will tell....
Why is that so hard for some people to accept?
Looks like this was bollocks. Seems like there has been a lot of false news about Ukraine success in the last week.
It's regularly been mentioned on this thread and elsewhere
Or it's just another go Ukraine but wait ukraine are losing.....
Hmmmm I wonder
