Spent the entire weekend putting down attic insulation, removed old soggy rockwool, was surprised how bad it was. Replacing the open fire with a stove during the week. Might be a bit off topic but when Michael Martin said people will react when seeing energy bills this winter, it was about the only thing I believed coming out of his mouth in recent times.
Support is minimal but support none the less. Go have a look in your attic
And that has what to do with the invasion of Ukraine
Putin claims every European will freeze to death this winter without Russian gas
just to clarify
God I hope it's true, an agonizing death will be still to good for him
If he did actually say that, then he's talking out his hole.
My advice: stick on an extra fleece and a little caipín if needed and think of the poor Russian boys freezing their arses off and not knowing when their number is about to come up.
Very blatant case of him playing the propaganda game - it's the kind of thing he's going to feel compelled to say. There's already ructions over what to do about energy prices in European countries. Putin will be mighty keen to bolster that element who will say that Ukraine should be left swinging in the wind so that energy prices can come down, ignoring the fact that energy companies are looking at an absolute bumper profit year and therefore the role that domestic elements will be playing in why your gas bill is going through the roof.
No idea what that's got to do with Ukraine but on the rockwool being wet and soggy you'd be better off looking into the route of that issue instead of just replacing it as you'll be back to square one in no time.
I'd be more worried about who replaces Putin than if he's on his last legs or not. Lot of nutcases looking to step in and make a name for themselves. It's probably horsesh1t anyway like most stuff on the web these days.
The London Times has quite good coverage of international affairs.
Reading it today, it’s analysis says that Putin has tended to dither a bit when things get difficult and things are very difficult now. It says there are no good options for him, full mobilisation is politically risky, withdrawal is politically risk, nuclear weapons runs the risk of NATO annihilation.
Looking at it through Putins eyes, the most likely thing is to keep going as is and just hope something turns up.
But he is in a deep crisis already and it could get worse.
full mobilisation is politically risky
Not sure the precise definition of 'full mobilisation' but surely the logical move now is to draw a line on the map that he believes would constitute 'an honourable result' and then keep pouring more men in there until he achieves it, then signal to Zelensky that he wants to talk turkey...or possibly in Turkey...
Zelensky biggest fear is European/West waning on support, many analysts/reports are saying Putin's last gamble is weaponizing energy over winter and he will push hard, probably cut off complete supply if Germany up their level of support. I presume you are European since you are on these forums, so this indeed affects you. I probably could have worded it better or spelt it out more but to say you have no idea what it has to do with Ukraine is baffling really.
I have just been watching this CNN report inside newly liberated Ukraine. Look at the Ukrainian tank at about 2:50, several Nazi symbols on display.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT_8HXAHZXE
Why do they keep doing this, terrible for western PR ?
What Nazi symbol?
I must be blind because I don't see these nazi symbols. Could you clarify what you claim to have seen?
Russian donation Tanks tend to be covered in odd letters and symbols &stuff. The Ukraine army is a bit too busy to wash and go every bit of gear they get.
The black and white crosses at 2:58 as the driver is getting in.
It's not a nazi symbol,it's a simple while cross ,seen on thousands of Ukrainan military vehicles the Ukrainan military symbol contains a cross
Any chance you could point it out via a screenshot? I have looked at the footage, around that time in the video and I cannot see anything like that.
Two things that you may not be aware of though:
Okay by that criterion every Catholic Church in the world is full of Nazi symbols
Yeah no, that's not an Iron Cross.
A simple Christian Cross pattee used as a singe of valor.
Used by and display by many military over the centuries
For comparison:
Oh look the German airforce has crosses on their aircraft.the Army has the same on their vehicles .
Must be zazis so
What your saying is really is you haven't a clue what your posting and why
So have you actually compared them yourself before trying to call Ukrainians Nazis?
Yes, its a white cross to distinguish their equipment. Someone said in a post some time ago it was to emulate a roman emperor Constantine who brought Christianity to europe. Not so sure.
I think you are confused with the black cross the Germans used for many decades.
I guess I started paying attention to them after I saw this:
From a PR point of view all these coincidences look bad.
He's already played the gas card and lost imo. EU gas reserves are something like 85% full, France is refurbishing a gas pipeline to Germany. russia runs out of road before the EU will.
I have never called the Ukrainians Nazis, I just said it was bad for PR ??? You think its good for PR ?
