I’m good with that , my friend.
Ah now Dude, youve just confirmed my long held suspicions. You went to a lot of trouble with the contrived language and all but you've slipped up.
Tuned in today for a while.
Inside couple of minutes heard 'mental health '.
Tuned out again.
Well I never listened to Gerry Ryan so I guess that’s it….🤷♂️
Herself and Gerry Ryan worked together...she was extremely Emotional when he passed away
Probably more to do with Dunnes Stores publicists than any thing else or lazy producers.
Wow!
For a lad who seemed to know his radio…that is amazing.
She has honestly escaped my attention before this morning. Genuinely never heard of her before!
What agent ?
He doesn't have one.
So Francis Brennan has no agent eh? I see. So how does a fella like that get multiple series/shows on RTE, multiple appearances on TLLS, other radio shows (normally hosted by presenters from a certain well known agency) without an agent? Yep, it's a real teaser alright.
If fact, if he can get so much work without an agent, why do the other superstars bother with an agent at all?
The "listen" and "c'mere's" have gotten worse.
The interviewees are more patient than me not to start mimicking him or something.
😯
Were you in a coma for the past six year, horse?
She was terrible, I’m glad I hadn’t heard of her before today…..right?
Cushy little number, well sinecured I’ll be bound…….!
She's been around for years that wan
No reference to Noel Kelly Management?
From Wikipedia, so I can't vouch for its accuracy:
"Evelyn O'Rourke is an Irish broadcaster employed by RTÉ
O'Rourke joined RTÉ in 1998 as a researcher on The Gay Byrne Show and The Arts Show on RTÉ Radio 1 before moving on to become roving reporter on Today with Pat Kenny on RTÉ Radio 1 and The Gerry Ryan Show on RTÉ 2fm. She has served as a presenter on several RTÉ programmes, including Drivetime Liveline and Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio 1 as well as an annual Countdown to the Leaving Cert series on RTÉ 2fm on which she offered advice to Leaving Certificate students. She also was a regular contributor to the "It Says in the Papers" slot on Morning Ireland. Other television work includes Crimecall, The Daily Show, Seoige and as a judge on TV talent shows Glas Vegas and The All Ireland Talent Show."
There’s a lady on now described as “Radio 1 reporter Evelyn O’Rourke” who I haven’t heard before. She had a propensity to end almost every sentence with “right?”, which is incredibly annoying and sounds very unprofessional and casual (esp. considering she’s discussing a funeral). I wonder who she’s related to? Seán?
I heard the first bit of today's program. That discussion of the queue to pay respects to the late QEII as an entity in itself was one of the funniest things I've heard in a while, incl. the chat with Oliver Callan. Brilliant 👏👏
Context dear boy, context?
Is that a serious question?
In your opinion but still more people are listening than before.
The show's dead. No sponsor, no real adverts - long rambling interviews to cover the fact that nobody wants to advertise - that's about it.
What about Francis Brennan's agent though. You seem to have missed my question as to who that agent might be.
I quoted two links in that post but somehow the second one got lost in the Boards machine.
Got it this time.
Of course the one referring to the late MF is from 2020 because she passed away on January 2nd 2020 RIP.
Anyway the figures are in the links.
2020 - bang up to date there alright
BO'C is actually marginally ahead of his illustrious predecessor.
Surely the audience numbers for Ballsy's programme have plummeted since the days of Maid Marian ?
Always thought The Maid was grossly overpaid even for RTE...but in fairness she was an interesting listen...unlike the whine and C'meers that Ballsy comes out with.
This previously entertaining and interesting segment has dis improved drastically.
Link to the Queen’s Paddington sketch?
Funny to hear Brendan mention his “annual chat” with Jeffrey Archer. They probably have a list somewhere of when they can get away with calling him back in to pad things out again.
Feck knows. It was really bizarre finish.
Why did he play We are the Champions?
Who's Francis Brennan's agent?
It's only a lighthearted construct a bit like "national treasure", not to be taken too seriously.
As for his real nieces and nephews he has been very generous to them.
Presents and cards for every birthday and Christmas until they were 21.
On their 21st birthday they got a "round the world" airline ticket for two as a final gift.
