No matter who started or will finish but we will have pay heavy price for it and our future are not bright anymore.

Those who are saying that we will come trough this recession same as trough others doesn't fully understand the situation we are in.If no nuclear war will happen we could not just lose everything we have but also brighter future of our kids.I wouldn't like my kids see recession of 1929 in USA or 80s in Ireland or 90s in Russia. If recessions was taking 2-3 years this will be 10 years lost easily!

The energy, finance and geopolitical forces will come together, Europe doesn't have leaders ! Who will able sort those problems? Clowns in Brussels or Berlin ? Which brought us to st we are in ?

The younger generation not prepared to things coming. Most of them doesn't know what real price of bread is or what hard work is ! Most of them live in phones or are dreamers.I see plenty young guys coming to our factory, most of them useless not Because old always thinking the same, because we was different in them age !

Your posts don’t make any sense at all. As pointed out, you expect to have a pension but your prediction is the State won’t have money anymore. You want to buy a property but you expect the Irish economy to crash snd never recover.

Your predictions are based on nothing but your opinions with no explanation on why. You post one article about one company to justify all of them will do the same.

Why do you want to live in a country that has, in your opinion, no future?

Why do you keep cash to buy a property that will only keep losing value?

And you come here telling us that you know how to invest.

I will repeat my comment for you in case you missed:

I tell you one simple thing. The majority of people voting in Ireland are people passing middle age.If they will not get pension they will vote for those who will pay pensions to them.

Those who will not get social welfare simply will have emigrate to own countries or as usual from Ireland. Some of them doesn't have right to vote and some of them simply will not vote. This will reduce amount of social welfare has to be paid also will stop waste of money for HAPs.Cuttings there will be prioritized.Public will support it because doesn't like those who doesn't take jobs. This also will partly solve housing problems and reduce rent.So no harm here.

I personally faced situation when my welfare been canceled in 2016 because I didn't take job offered in Ireland. And I see reaction of people who I was telling my story. All of them said I had take job offered because don't have any right waste tax payers money. So here support to government will be guaranteed!

Mr Varadkar brought companies to Ireland named Seatek and Jobpath.Believe me they doing job very well ! Mr Varadkar loved telling people before last elections how he "reduced" unemployment in Ireland.

I want to stay in this country because I am getting old and I will get pension in this country when in my country were I from this will be difficult. Also I am to old start new life at home .

I will buy property not at highest price ! I will buy property which will already lose it value.

I don't invest because all assets already reached top price and are highly volatile.

I created number of products which producing I will have additional income to my pension.

I will always have job in this country.Simply look at work force shortage in Ireland and average age of people at work.Simply Open your eyes !

If you don't know how invest than simply get couple palets for free and make some benches ! Sell them and make more ! Not giving your money and scratching your ase wait for somebody will bring you your money on the plate ! Because this not gonna happen! Because today you will get and tomorrow you will lose and as result you will stay with nothing ! There is plenty sad stories and only one happy end !

You keep contradicting yourself… I link a post where you said Ireland will be a second Sri Lanka with 240 billion in debt, export will be less profitable and you wouldn’t surprised if the government doesn’t have money to pay social welfare in 2024.

However, your prediction is that emigration of people without job will save the country to pay social welfare again.

Do you realise that it doesn’t make sense?

Where does the money will come from then?

Selling benches to people that don’t have money to spend based on your predictions?

    Good business plan.

Mongolia have agreed for the new pipeline to pass through it's land. Work is expected to start in 2024

Difficult not to see large energy dependent Western companies making plans to head east.

I tell you 2 stories, one sad and happy.

One restaurant owner in Ireland sold his restaurant in 2007.When money came to his bank account he got magic and profitable offer from bankers ! Invest to portfolio of shares.Smart lad took good and friendly bonkers offer and in 2008 he lost everything. He finished his life hanging on rope.Better he do benches !

Another smartie sold his pub for 800K to one lad in 2007.When guy got bankrupt in 2008 the previous owner bought his pub back for 450K leaving new owner with debt to bank and earning 350 K in 1 year time.

I tell you, banging benches is not bad really!

If you believe to the bright future keep believe it ! But don't blame me that I am blind ! Just when rain will start don't start crying that nobody told you about it ! Arrogance is one of the worst your friends!

They did quite well from Ukraine also, the longer it goes on they will be taking more of it as well in return for all these loans and missiles and things. Not going to be too many winners from all this and yet no one talking of ending it for some reason.

Going to be a tough winter in silicon docks this winter.just read sunday times report on Meta shrinking its dublin base and have started reducing dublin numbers by not renewing contracts for agency staff and for contractors. Junior recuiters not renewed (although their skills are transferable accross industries) reports up to 100 rolls going in next few months. Then had Patreon announcing closing dublin office too. Those days of people working on a contract basis in the IT sector may not be as attractive as they were

What is wrong with Putins left arm?

In that video it's wedded to his side the whole time? Looks like he injured it or something?

Was there anything in the article about their future plans? I understood that they originally had planned for 8k to be in the new HQ. Will those numbers be hit I wonder. As others have mentioned it is quite easy for them to not renew existing contractors.

See the German storage being near full pop up in these articles, but going by what the Ines boss said before the gas got shut off that if they'd reached the storage goal in November and then the gas got shut off that'd it'd only last 2 1/2 months.

Oh dear, People are still buying into "factchecks?" These are just influencing businesses.

I don't think anyone expected there to be records of these sales.

I saw earlier that Donald trump has come out and accused Joe Biden of tapping into the US strategic oil reserve in order to lower prices and help with the upcoming elections. It remains to be seen but will happen to gas prices in America after the election. If trump is right, the price could go back up and unfortunately make life more difficult for those that are struggling financially.

Might help Joe's popularity amongst some, although I doubt it will change his popularity among the young where he is deeply disliked.

I had read that it's double headed. Yes, anything to help with elections will be done by any and all politicians, but a second goal is to make oil from the US similarly attractive to outside buyers in an effort to reduce the influence of cheap Russian oil.

So go on, show us (or Brickster69) on what basis you think this information is true?

Norway is hardly going to shut off gas to Germany though. Germany are still filling their storage 89.33% full (+1% since NS1 was shutdown)

I fully agree. Still. I'm glad that he won the election instead of Hillary Clinton, and don't forget as brain dead as he is. He did try and warn Germany about being dependant on Russian gas.

They'd a few big withdrawals from reserves before and then the ongoing 1m barrels a day that's to end at the end of October right before the election

    From that Forbes article.

President Biden has announced steps to replenish the SPR, “likely after FY2023”

Federal fiscal year is September to October so after October 2024

Not that they could draw it down anymore, the legal lower limit is meant to be so many days worth of normal import or something. They're meant to be near that when this ends.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,553 ✭✭✭✭Varik

Doubt they would but the Ines boss also didn't mention them, You'd have to assume in his estimates they continue suppling it, which still leaves the 2 1/2 months of post November usage.

Right now we're at reduced usage and the price of gas if forcing industries to lower their own consumption.

Well mate, let's do some maths.

I invested today 5 euros and 7 hours of work and made 380 euros profit. How much your investment brought money to you today ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,714 ✭✭✭Deub

And again, what does it have to do with all your posts about the impact of the future recession?

Good for you to make money on the side but will you sell as many benches for 380€ If the recession is as bad as you expect? Or are you like these people that can’t wait for a recession because for some reason they don’t expect to be impacted and will buy the property they can’t afford now?
