Had a small bit of drama with aviva. Rang call centre. Said to but 999 in the engine size section on the online switch and it will work. Did work but had it down as a roadster not RWD. Sent and email and then recieved a call telling me do not do that. Shouldn't have bee told that at all. Said to do over the phone within 6 days of collection and they will wave the 25 admin fee. Rang yesterday for tomorrow collection and got 70 quid back. Happy days 😊. Very excited now for tomorrow!
collected my m3 yesterday and got a tyre pressure monitor fault - googled a solution but didn't find anything that allowed me to reset it. Does anybody else have this issue and have a fix for it?
Monitor system fault or a pressure imbalance?
Log it in the app. Most likely a sensor in the wheel needs replacing or the actual TPMS Module may need a reboot by Tesla.
Log it as they can remotely log into the cars canbus.
Tbh I’m still thinking something will go wrong and I won’t be able to collect. Irrational of course. I first ordered a new car (not a Tesla) over two years ago now.. I won’t go into it as it will bore everyone but I’m just not confident these companies want to take my money at this point, haha.
I had to go through it with them over the phone and had to select the standard range plus. No option for the current RWD that I’m getting.
All will go well and you will be smiling tomorrow...anxieties of recent months will be a distant memory and you will love your car
They've been there for 3 weeks now so I beg to differ
Any shrewd businessman would just drop the price by 500 and get the deal done. But computer says no.
I am getting slightly exited if I’m honest..
If you rock up before your time slot can you still collect or will they make you wait? I’m thinking they will be happy for it to be out of there?
Wishing it was so ...doesn't make it any closer to reality. The TESLA business model is online with standard pricing. Tesla has an extremely successful business model (by any objective standards) that has at its core volume and standardisation as opposed to bespoke individual service. Cars are also rare to sit in inventory for too long, accepting your point of recent days, but these are unlikely to be still there come 30th September when Tesla move heaven and earth to ensure sales are booked for their quarter end stock market. Removing software such as FSD may shift them quicker and that remains a possibility.
Picking up my car tomorrow (Model 3). Will it be fitted with a tax and insurance disc holder or do I need to get one?
Mike
They give you one to fix yourself. It's in the car on pick up.
Yes I had an issue (error tpms vcsec 222) and logged it for a service visit. They pushed a software update but that didn't work. It seems the module is not connecting to the Bluetooth pressure monitors in the wheels.
Are there any insurance companies that will not insure Model 3's? Aviva and Liberty are proving difficult and my driving record is flawless. Who have others gone with?
Had to get another trade-in offer on my 2020 SR+ as 30 days was up thanks to the shennanigans with AIB and trying to get a settlement letter that's valid until a few days after collection..
Anyways, new trade-in offer is €950 less than it was 30 days ago ☹️
Being hit with an additional bill for €1k a few days before delivery is a tough pill.... It is certainly one of the downsides of the Tesla ordering model. If that was a traditional garage and you had agreed a trade-in price a month ago and they tried to low-ball you a month later on collection day, you would tell them where to go...
Unfortunately, Tesla are literally in the driving seat here and demand is outstripping supply so it is take it or leave it....
You’re also forgetting that these cars in inventory are not sitting in sandyford. They are on a ship en route. They could be sold to the uk market too.
Can you get more selling private?
Yes there is a double one in car at collection.
My advice is to fit it at top of windscreen, doesn't spoil the nice dash line when driving (And associated increased blind spot if sitting low while driving.)
Agree. Wondering why they haven't already. They should be selling on both sites at the same time.
These inventory cars are probably on a boat somewhere and probably listed on Ireland and UK site weeks in advance of arriving. The "new" inventory cars normally sell within a couple of weeks.
I'm noticing that insurance dropdowns do not have an option for MODEL 3 (RWD). There is the option: TESLA MODEL-3 STANDARD RANGE PLUS. I believe this is the US equivalent of the standard model. Is this what others have selected?
Yes
I know insurance is highly personalised but as a general experience are those that have swapped an ICE for a M3 did your existing policy go up or down? I would consider the current motor high risk so would hope for worst case no increase for the next 5 months on the policy
Mine went down by 10% which was a surprise. My 'old' car was a 2.1L Diesel and 204bhp.
Try 123.ie They are very competitive and no problem insuring Tesla
Im hoping for something similar, im on temporary cover for a week as Allianz wont cover the car permanently until they can resolve the reg and wont give an updated cost until then, up till this morning I was 300Bhp and Petrol but now a bus w@nk3r for 24 hours, so fingers crossed.
Just as a heads up, I was with Alliance too, via the AA, and when they agreeded to update my old car to the M3 , they wanted another 490 odd euro to do so. They quoted that the car was a performance car, allTesla's were blah blah blah.
If that happens, ask them to refund you the balance on your policy and shop around for a new quote. I ended up with the same policy for 20 quid more than my 6 year old car.
We are with Aviva for a number of years. Both missus and myself paid same premium, €340, when we both changed cars this year. Me from an ID.3 to a Model 3, her from a classic Ioniq to an Ioniq 5.
Thanks, Ill have the other options sorted etc before i call them back to make the switch permanent, will certainly pull the plug if there is an increase, the Cupra was €700 this year no claims ever or current penalty points and maximum NCB so still steep enough
