I'm not disagreeing with either you or your expert, and from what I have seen while I was in Russia, the comment about Russian state of readiness of its nuclear arsenal would be suspect too. Still they did build and supply the International Space Station for a good nr of years until they lost the contract. But I guess they were well paid for that, as opposed to having to finance the maintenance of the nuclear weapons out of the national budget.
Russia are not sending more troops apparently. It crossed my mind that if they are being defeated in Ukraine, they might fight from a distance, with rockets. If that is the case, the west needs to knock out a few banks and shiny buildings in Moscow.

That is what I would do if I was planning an invasion of another country and wanted to prevent any leaks.
They may try to fight with rockets if they have enough of them, but I'm not sure that they do. It probably would have made sense for Russia to try and obliterate known enemy positions in the early hours of Feb 24th with their rocket stockpile, then, rather than trying a ground invasion that apparently had little air cover. I'm no military strategist, but I would have thought ranged weaponry was the first thing to go with in order to weaken an enemy, before committing ground troops and equipment in large numbers.
Not good for Ukrainian positions on the wrong side of the river, assuming the level raises enough to cause a problem.

May be due to pump failures instead, with recent strikes on unnamed energy infrastructure in the region - you would hope so. Otherwise the inhulets may be uncrossable for a good while. I'm sure they have an eye on the oskol dam too
Azerbaijan obviously taking their opportunity in the wake of the Ukraine situation. They must be confident of the Russian collapse in Ukraine.

Listening to a Russian born analyst on RTE and he doesn't think we're close to Putin being toppled yet. He suggests though that if and when Ukraine enters Crimea, that's when tensions will really start to ramp up,
Not sure how accurate this is, but if true it gives the green light to Azerbaijan to do whatever they want.
More than likely the Israelis will be able to hack into them and redirect them towards Moscow or Sochi.

Prediction: When the Russians are finally forced out of Kherson (one way or the other) they will blow the Nova Khakovkha dam as an act of sheer spite.
Age would not necessarily be the issue, just look at the US and their B-52, a bomber that has seen of every attempt at replacement so far. However, something tells me that this tank has seen nowhere near the amount of upgrades that the US have given their B-52s. Heck, I'd say even the anemic upgrades the Brits made to the Avro Vulcan would probably be an order of magnitude over what the Russians invested in their T-62s, to say nothing of maintenance...
