I think he’s going to be found one day in a burned out car or with a bullet in his head. He’s clearly panicking
Clearly suicide.. 😉
Why on Earth waste firearms when there’s perfectly good hospital windows in ample supply.
Yes, that's the message they are driving. But how is this message of full mobilisation and the draft going down in apartments of Russian cities? That will worry ordinary people and must also be an undermining influence. So the authorities can put out all the videos they like about the great success of the special military operation but if the messaging is now conscription, then the public must realise that all is not well. The only way conscription will work is if the Kremlin convince the public that there is now an existential threat to the very state of Russia and that is very far from the special military operation messaging.
Thankfully, no word on any new war crimes as towns and villages are liberated. Might be to early though to say for certain though.
Assuming the front line stabilises along the Oskil river,

then the only remaining North-South rail line that goes through Troitske is just over 40km from the Ukrainian positions. This would put it well within HIMARS/MLRS range at a cost of $150,000 a go.
If firing across Russian territory was acceptable, then the line would be less than 30km away
and within range of the slightly more cost effective m777 Excaliburs which cost roughly €100,000 each. Regardless of how much they want to spend on the action, I think its safe to say that that railway line will be unusable for resupplying the Russian forces.
The next railway line between Ukraine and Russia however is 230km further south at Gukovo, well south of Severodonetsk and even Luhansk. That line doesn't go directly to either and trains must head northwest to Depreradivka before being switched further north. Depreradivka is also just over 40km from the Ukrainian front lines.
And if it hasn't been receiving much attention up to now, I suspect that will change very soon. All of Luhansk is now cut off from rail resupply and I would not be surprised to see further gains there for the Ukrainians before the autumn rasputitska (mud season).
Russia does not have the capability to train or equip a full mobilisation.
I mentioned that a few posts back when I heard it too, but the general consensus was that while the oligarchs could certainly raise their own private " Militia's", the first hint of Putin stepping down would be like sharks smelling / tasting blood on the water, and start a feeding frenzy, and indeed this could be the actually trigger for his removal, which was why Putin never allowed it in the past, for obvious reasons.
How does that work?
Russian population (assuming for a second Russian statistics are not the usual fake) is only 3.5 larger.
It’ll just be like the opening scene in ‘Enemy at the Gates’. A line of people getting off the train, being handed a kalashnikov, and directed toward where all the explosions were
a scene which, according to the guys on ‘The Rest is History’ podcast is completely historically accurate
edit: this is the Stalingrad episode if anyone is interested. It’s a fascinating listen

Well earlier on, he sent conscripts to Ukraine even though by law, conscripts cannot be sent to a war zone ( or special military operation either) only contracted soldiers. Yet many were sent there.. so when push comes to shove, Putin shows scant regard for the Law of the Land.
That could be calculated to stir up anti Putin sentiment.
Who can rapidly expand military production? And you list a Sanctioned Russia behind the US.
The reality is, US, France, Britain, Germany, Japan, India, South Korea, Italy, Sweden and numerous others (Isreal, Pakistan, Turkey) can all rapidly expand military production faster than Russia.
Russia is an economy based on fossil fuel extraction, their arms industry is based on imported tech. They have no other industrial capacity to transfer. Western Europe has enormous industrial capacity that can transfer to Military and it has a trained workforce. Claiming Russia can outproduce even moderate industrial powers like Italy of Spain is highly debatable, outproducing Germany France or Britain is pure fantasy.
It's not just weapons.
Bullets and bandages. Does Russia have indigenous medical manufacturing to meet the demand such a war would bring?
Not as much as Germany, Italy. In fact Irelands Pharma industrial capacity is multiple times larger than Russias.
I think this is what may forget. They are giving soldiers on duty at the rear of the battle line Moisin Nagent bolt action rifles. The FCA or what ever the Irish reserve is called not have FN rifles.
There is rumours of soldiers refusing to move from Russia. If I was poorly equipped ( no flak jacket, a bolt action rifle very little ammunition, maybe no proper army clothing or boots etc) I be slow going as well.
That’s not true.
Loads on CNN yesterday
But maybe even more important by now is the amount of information available from Russian survivors coming home and bringing their horror stories with them. And their families and friends will believe them over the Kremlin propaganda anytime. And of course even more effective, the bodies of the dead, and the growing lists of the missing. the Kremlin can say what it likes, but the story on the ground will be far different.
I think that's the key point here.
Mass conscription and then what.
No equipment or kit for those resentful and unwilling conscripts?
Because they will be resentful and unwilling.
Conscription is an admission of humiliating defeat for Putin.
There is nothing particularly wrong with a Moisin 1898 rifle. In some units it might by a good auxilary sniper rifle, however it appears to the only weapon issued to entire units of conscripts from LPR and DPR, making them completely ineffective.
Anything from reputable news networks?
Yes CNN. Showed bodies being dug up from mass graves.
I really don't think we should be sending botox and viagra to the front lines
I guess that's the only way that the Russians will be able to smooth out the frontlines and put up a stiff resistance in the current situation...
Pal CNN isn't a reputable news network come on it's a step above Twitter just. You might as well be watching fox news. Reuters would be my go to source of news gathering.
The Allies commented after WW2 that it was amazing how they couldn't find a single Nazi supporter in all Germany.
Stop being facetious, you made a claim that was easily rebutted and offer nothing to counter it. Ireland produces multiple times what Russia does in vital medical equipment, medicines and chemicals used in medicine, and snide jokes about botox do not change that.
You can fanboy the capabilities of Russia, their army, their industrial capacity, their economy all you like but all your snide jokes, copy paste articles does not hide that this is Russia, not the Soviet union and it is 2022 not 1954.
Russia is a mid range regional European power and a minnow on the world stage.
Sorry have been avoiding the mainstream media the last couple of days, when I didn’t see anything here I presumed it wasn’t happening, going on their past record it is not surprising.
Suitable for a cavalry unit then, perhaps? 😁
You must have me confused with someone else. I didn't make any claims, just asked a question.
As for my glib remark, Ireland exports a sizeable amount of the world supply of viagra, botox, and cholesterol medication. Have a nice day.
