Same boat here.... on a Pixel 5 with the latest Android and WiFi Calling not working. If I go into Phone -> Settings -> Calls, there is no Wifi Calling option. And if I go into #*#4636#*# -> Phone Info, CoLTE and WiFi Calling are off and greyed out.
Does anyone have it working on Pixel 5 and GoMo?
Unless you're on an operator that sells Pixel phones directly, who basically comprise the "Google list" for these features (like Vodafone) it won't work for any Pixel phone.
Same all over Europe.
VoLTE won't work either when on a mobile network (data speeds will drop to 3G when on a voice call)
5G won't work either if you had 5G on your carrier
Your only option would be to root the phone to get it to work.
There seem to have been some recent changes on this but seems like Eir still no go
Google tend to lock the threads on it eventually
Nobody knows the logic behind it
It's controlled at the Google level 100%
Crippling their phones features for many users for what?

Anyone else having issues with Wi-Fi Calling when roaming between APs in the same house? 5Ghz Wi-Fi, full coverage, 200MB speed, but when i move between floors/rooms the call drops. Filed an issue with Apple but wondering if anyone else hitting it?
Yes. Wife has a Samsung with this issue. Took a while to figure it out, turn off wifi calling problem gone. Problem being calls dropping constantly.
In my opinion, wifi calling is more of a bug than a feature at the minute.
Interesting! So you have multiple access points? Mind me asking which brand? Afraid I need to keep Wi-Fi calling enabled because my home is a black spot with zero bars.
You need to have APs that support WiFi roaming (802.11r fast roaming etc). Most mesh devices or Unifi APs should support this. WiFi roaming will give you seamless handoff on WiFi Calling as you move from one AP to the next. However if your APs are standalone (eg Homeplugs or recycled routers) then, your calls may drop as you roam from one AP to the next.
Yes i am running Cisco APs with 802.11r enabled. I can stay put when i am on a call but it would be good to figure out why it drops when it roams. Tried looking at iPhone logs and AP logs but nothing is standing out.
WiFi Calling does not need high speeds - but it does require very consistent high quality of WiFi at all times, including the uplink. If you are using 5GHz, the AP footprint is very small, and you need a lot of APs to give seamless coverage in a house. You don't need 5GHz for WiFi Calling. Try setting up a 2.4GHz dedicated SSID for WiFi Calling, and set your phone to forget the 5GHZ SSID, and stay locked on the 2.4GHz. If this gets rid of your call drops, then it suggests that you may need a greater number of 5GHz APs to ensure consistent quality.
Ok I finally figured the problem out. There was some issue with the version of firmware on my home router (running OpenWRT). Once I upgraded that, the problem went away!
Strangely, I don’t seem to be able to receive SMS while on Wi-Fi Calling. Tried using 2FA for GitHub and MyGovID but the code did not come though until disabled airplane mode.
Talked to the guys in the Eir store today and they told me they don’t think SMS ever worked over Wifi Calling. 🤷♂️
I filled in the complaint form as mentioned on that thread for the European Consumer Centre Ireland, probably won't do much but a good rant is always good for the soul 😊
Yeah it never worked for me either. When connected to wifi-calling and SMS comes over the mobile network.
You can only send SMS and not receive over wifi calling on Eir/Gomo. You need network signal to receive.
Did you test that? I tried sending yesterday while on Wi-Fi calling and it didnt send.
yes. I could send but not receive texts. That was a couple a months ago unless something has changed since.
Which type of phone is that? I read somewhere that resetting the phone app & messages app cache and restart fixes it but I don’t see a way to do that on iPhone.
Iphone 13 pro max
Has anyone managed to receive texts over wifi calling on Eir/Gomo or do you need network signal to receive them.
Yes - I regulary receive texts on Eir WiFi calling. Works well for me.
Cross pushing to get, I got this working on a pixel6.

Can you screenshot the setting you changed to enable WiFi calling working on GoMo?
I see your post about changing APN settings.
From reading up on that, as far as I can see, I think (a) there's more to it than adding an APN and changing a setting (eg installing an apk) and (b) it's limited to certain phone models (Pixel 6 or later).
New ASUS Zenfone 8 in our house. No wifi calling or VoLTE available, even after entering the *# codes. The Samsung A40 it replaced had both working on GoMo.
Not all manufacturers have coded the WiFi Calling settings for every international operator in their firmware. You need to check with handset operator ir test before buying. The safest way is to purchase a handset directly from Eir, as GoMo uses the Eir network.
Yeah, you need to install that pixel IMS and Shizuku apps, follow the instructions there, AND for gomo add the APN.
And this is only applicable to Tensor based devices.
Thanks a mill, seems to be working on my Pixel 7 Pro now. Is it working for you after the March update?
I know it is a long shot given the date of this post but wondering if you got this sorted?
Any suggestions for a similar situation here?
I am using an iPhone 13 Pro Max and had issues with wifi calling - I just took SIM card out, turned phone off and SIM card back in and its working perfectly now.
I have an original GoMo SIM as I was an early adopter to the 9.99 plan. No issues as such except that I've noticed that speeds seem a lot slower in some areas (have they dropped bands like VF have or just busier?)
Any point in ordering a replacement SIM or are there any other benefits/features on the SIM since they launched?
