2.) state he is pulling his troops out because [insert BS reason re Nazi’s etc] objective has been completed.
The latter I think gives himself his best chance to survive as 🤴of Russia.

I would say russia moved alot of their troops to kherson because they thought thats where Ukraine would make the big attack but now they dont have enough troops left in the north to defend the Ukrainian blitzkrieg
Honestly rogber i think any command from Putin or his inner circle to go nuclear in London or any other NATO city would be completely ignored by his generals and would mean Putin and his cronies strung up by their necks. An attack on London would basically mean an attack on Moscow in retaliation resulting in millions of dead Russians who would be family and friends of those same Russian generals. Basically it ain't happening.
Now would a chemical or tactical nuke in Ukraine be an option to a humiliated Putin, well that's a totally different question and not something i see as completely out of the realms of possibilities to a defeated Russia.
I think his final option is to declare a war as opposed to a "Special Operation", how he can throw numbers and the kitchen sink at it.
There's a lot of talk of bluff and counter bluff from the Ukrainians. They were making big dramatic announcements but perhaps designed to deceive the Russians of their real plans.
That depends on local Ukrainian commanders I'd guess, if it comes to pass.
Same Russian soldiers haven't exactly covered themselves in glory as regards how they've behaved towards civilian populations. You live by the sword and die by it. How has Russia treated Ukrainian prisoners of war?

I wouldn't be surprised if he starts having serious problems getting anyone on the panel from now on. A few ill chosen words and the FSB will come knocking, and it will be the last sound you here before plumetting from the top floor of a building, even if you live at ground level.
You wouldn't catch me going on that panel, I'd be looking at the options for getting out of the country as fast as possible.

I'm sorry but that's just not right. The minute we lower ourselves to the level of the Russian's we are done for. Are some of them animals and scum yes they are but a lot are just piss poor lads who know no better and come from places of pure poverty. Many will not even know what they are fighting for and are just desperate for a wage. I don't think people know just the level of poverty in vast parts of Russia and how poorly Putin has left parts of it to rot.
If Ukraine abandon's all decency towards Russian soldiers then Putin will use that propaganda to his own gain and stir up national pride. Thankfully it looks like Zelensky knows this and hasn't been stupid enough to suggest what you want.
