Gigs announced this morning .
September 9th & 10th .
Doubt anyone is on boards in the area but how are the crowds in the pubs like?
Have a premium level ticket so might as well just head in and use the facilities
If you're coming in through drumcondra, Kennedys or Fagans are definitely worth stopping into for 1 or 2. But yeah, when you've got a premium ticket, may as well just head into the stadium
Traffic is heavier than I've seen it in a long time in the Capital, looks like lots of people drove to Dublin. I'd be wary of parking illegally for fear of clamping, avoid parking on footpaths.
Is there a protest as well? Was a lot of northern reg cars in phibsboro heading towards the city at 7am when I was coming home from work. Few had mica things in the dashboard.
No, I think they're just Garth Brooks concert goers sympathetic to victims of mica or indeed affected by mica.
A load of posts just deleted
PTH2009 and hyensie08 drop it. Put each other on ignore
They seem to have just released hundreds of great seats near the stage for tonight.
Might go next weekend if the weather is anyway decent.
Traffic pretty heavy, on the motorway atm
Be lucky to be Croker for 6.45 esp with the 35 min walk from Whitehall GAA
Perfect timing imo. Get in, get a pint and get settled all well before the advertised start time.
Enjoy
I wonder if people will be surprised by the set list. Many people will expect to hear the hits they remember from the 90s but GB has released a lot of music since then and his recent shows in the US contain many songs that Irish fans may not have heard through radio airplay.
Just had our AirBnBer who has flown in from Europe leave to go to Croker. She is so excited.
I hope they all have a lovely night and the rain stays away.
weather doesn't look great for Sunday. I'm in Hogan stand lower row CC. would that be covered or will I feel the wrath of the elements ?
You're covered. But only just. If its windy, you'd get wet if it rains heavy enough.
Setlist for the tour is available online, wouldn't be many I wouldn't have known already and I'm not a massive fan.
Where can I find the setlist
The weather looks awful for Sunday. If it is raining I am hoping it is just showers. I know they will be heavy but it might jot be too bad.
For you, it will depend on what way the rain will be lashing in.
Sundays weather looks diabolical.
Thanks, sorry I missed your first post!
I was able to drop them right at Jones Road so very close. I found parking up at Mountjoy Square also, less than 10 minutes walk. Only had to pay up to 7pm too which was nice.

Very impressive stage
I'd say you're not far away from me! 🙂 Are there 3 pink fluffy hats in front of you?
Cusack stand is less than half full it looks like, with 20 minutes to go.
Thought Garth said it was meant to be elevated?
Is that the view with your premium ticket? I wouldn't be happy with that.
Yeah 529 row K
Its grand but I won't be lying back on my seat, suppose it been the same price I can't complain
Commenting as someone who's only ever heard one song of his before:
He came on at 8pm - a ten piece band approx - atmosphere electric - lovely audience in great form merry but not obliterated - HOWEVER
The sound is SHOCKING. Muddy and indecipherable. Worst I've heard all summer. I can't make out a word or a guitar riff or solo. I'm in Premium 533 close to the left of the stage. (Yes I've been to gigs in Croker before.)
Sound engineer needs to sort this out PRONTO before the rest of the run.
Heard issues with the sound so often, was good for Sheeran, was the best I'd ever heard for the U2 Joshua Tree 30 year thing. People walked out of Springsteen. You'd think they'd get the good engineers back in
Coldplay at Croke Park was the best sound I've ever heard at a big outdoor gig, it was crystal clear.
The stage for tonight looks a bit basic, only 2 small screens.
Coldplay at Croker was far better than the 6 times I've seen U2 at the same venue.
Football stadiums don't make for good acoustics and Croke Park can be awful
I thought the sound was fine for the songs, but maybe that's just because I knew what words to expect.
I couldn't understand a word of anything he said to the crowd in between songs. I was in Hogan 329.
He put on a hell of a show. It was quite a spectacle.
