Has anyone got the link to this? It was advertised in my Dept but I can't see it on Publicjobs??
Don't be to hard , it's hard to tell sometimes you think you do bad and fly it and vice versa , the whole process is bad I understand they have to be fair and transparent but rocking up to a interview without taking into account people's work is crazy I've seen some people get promoted who you wouldn't trust to tie their own show laces
Pretty much the opposite for me, at least it's over 😂
Found it a weird interview not very interested in the examples more focus on my application form, board were great and helpful..emailed Pas results by end of next week so at least we won't have to wait long
My interview did not go well, just kept going blank!
Have to say the boards were very nice though and did all they could, best of luck to every one else still to go 👍
Just got an invitation for interview- I'm in batch 2- OOM early teens for Dublin, so It seems they are keeping the momentum going!
@pawrick sorry just a little confused? did you share the report and the presentation or just shared the presentation on Zoom and sent the report by email?
Thanks pawrick
same report as was sent to them.
Thanks pawrick, by 'upload the presentation' do you mean you had done up another document, or upload the actual report sent on to pas prior?
Just having a mini panic in case I've missed something!
I didnt bother with slides either and got through fine. I was asked to upload my presentation during the interview but wasnt asked to share my screen.
Hi all,
Submitted my report but didn't opt to do up any slides, not a super important question but should I share my screen to display the report itself while presenting?
How did your interview go?
approx 1400 per fortnight
From what I remember it says no additional information is to be added…double check though. It should be in the guidelines they give you.
Does anyone know what the take home pay is for a new HEO…single person, with standard tax allowances?
Hi Square ball,
thanks for replying.
I got on to them as well, said shortlisting end of September and results will issue in October, so have a bit of time to study competencies. Something might happen in November
Dreading both, but mostly the presentation as i think others in group said only a week to prepare etc.
Thanks
So, I have my interview on Monday. I sent in my report by Thursday morning as required, but it really wasn't good - time got away from me. What I'm wondering is, on my presentation exercise, can I embellish my report or do I have to stick rigidly to what it said? Basically, I didn't put any real actions in so I can I give some at the exercise? Any tips would be great.
I'm on Clare and Limerick panels and was in touch last week. I was told they are hoping to begin shortlisting in my area's in the next 3-4 weeks.
Also the same as you both and also no messages since June
Hi Lads,
Anyone on the Galway, Limerick, Clare option.
Have you heard anything about application shortlisting, results or interview dates.
Or are they just doing Batches for Dublin - i think there are 3 batches?
anyone hazard an educated guess when they might give results on shortlisting, if they've even started them?
Can anyone elaborate broadly on the topics for the presentation, without compromising yourselves.
Thanks for all the info to date, much appreciated.
Yes you should be called. Might be a while but as far as I know they tend to call everyone who passes the shortlisting
Realistically if you are shortlisted at 400 OOM in batch 2 do you think you’d get called for interview?
Any guesses as to the pass rate thereafter?!
I am also in top 10 for offaly/westmeath. I haven't heard anything as of yet
I was 14 after online tests in Wexford and haven't heard anything about shortlisting. Surely they would be shortlisting more than 14 and would send an update to everyone either way?
No idea I was in Top 10 after online tests and the message from PAS just said Wexford Batch 1 for shortlisting and gave me new OOM
Whst number did they shortlist upto for wexford thanks
Anyone heard anything on Offaly or Westmeath? I am in top 10 of one & 20 of other.
Wexford has already been shortlisted .. about 2 weeks ago
They hope to shortlist for regional counties in the last wk of September
I have moved from early 500's to 20's in batch 2 for Dublin and am hopeful for an interview in October.
However I am in a weird situation where we have absolutely no senior staff and the area I am in is being run by non-public sector people and a few CS staff, 2 of us acting HEO, so I have no access to CS staff who may be able to offer guidance for the interview and presentation, will this leave me badly disadvantaged? Has anyone paid for coaching and if so was it worth the time and money? I am not naturally good at public speaking or at interview and come across best on paper so am anxious to give this my best shot as I am utterly miserable where I am.
My understanding is that initially PAS had put 440 candidates into batch 1 for shortlisting. Before starting the process, they assumed around 140 of that batch would reach the qualifying standard. More than 140 reached the standard for interview so they have interviewed and placed the first 140 (i assume) and are now working through the second group in batch 1.
A colleague of mine was in the 20s of batch 1 and he is finishing in our place on 21st September for his new department.
With the second batch of candidates they appear to have assessed ALOT more than 440 candidates. People on here were saying they were at OOM of 800+ and got a new OOM in the teens.
We haven't been told how many were put into batch 2, or their estimated numbers of who might reach the threshold, or the amount that did actually reach the threshold.
It seems they are still interviewing the second group of batch 1 in mid to end September then they will start on batch 2 in October.
I went from around 600 to around 160 in batch 2. Im optimistically estimating an interview mid to end October.
