Were the cars really filthy? Collecting on 16th and that's putting a downer on it. I mean handing over a dirty new car that cost 60k seems very bad.
Does paint work correction have to be done in dublin?
I am with Alliance and they dont know how much they want to charge me at this time as the car is not on their website yet.

I believe there was a cork option in the app when i logged the scratches. I wouldn't say filthy but definitely not clean.
Agree that it “should” but it doesn’t happen at the big brands either. It does sometimes and it doesn’t sometimes is the general result.
When I collected last March the car was not too clean, but had a good look around, took loads of high quality pics and gave it a good wash and dry when home. There was one small alignment issue that was fixed a few days later by the Ranger at my home. Paint was perfect.
Was sort of glad the car hadn't been through a roller car wash with the resultant swirls that are covered up with a quick detailing spray..
I waited 4 years to get my Model 3, there were 250,000 in the q before me.
The process of buying my first tesla was far simpler than when I bought my Ioniq (granted things seem to have changed somewhat in 2 years)

I assume this was in relation to me....yes, I was surprised by this. Got it sorted late enough into the evening at around 8:30 or so.
Is the pickup far from Renault Ireland location?
With no tent is it easy to spot the Tesla area?

I'm with allianz too. My base premium for a 24kWh Leaf was ~€320 and €390 with the extras I added. My policy was only 1 day old when I sold the Leaf and paused insurance for a few weeks. They charged me an extra €280ish for the Tesla. Alot more than I expected, but new quotes were similar.

Re the collection - I think there’s an element within the wider Tesla ecosystem that drivers have waited so long that they’ll crawl through fire just to get their hands on the car; so the cars are just getting lashed out to the buyers, take it or leave it.
that may have been ok with early adopters back in 2019, but these days Tesla account for 5% new Irish EV’s, and the buyers are not as disconcerting (nor should they be).
What about the the paint scratches, scuff marks?
It's just a tool, a car to do a job. It's not some high prized vintage car that needs to be pristine.
This is (will be) my third Tesla and I've put the other two through multiple car washes without a second thought. If it's dirty on collection I might stop for a car wash on the way home - for the day 1 photos. Then it won't see another wash till next year probably.
It looks like it's right above the pin at the Renault Ireland location. A small carpark and if you zoom in, you can see a grey pin with "Tesla Delivery Hub". That's where I'm going. Time to order a taxi!

Stopped at Ionity heading out towards the N/M7.
Lashed a few electrons into each.
2x M3s back in the house - all is right with the world once again 😎.

At least you had a sheltered cabin to sign up. We only had an old marquee open at either end and a gale blowing through in March..
Yeah, in fairness the shelter is a lot more than I was fearing would be there - I had visions of a little hut that security guards sit in....it looks nicer than I expected - thats how low my expectations were 😊

The cabin.......I didn't even step inside it. Just 2 seconds to sign the iPad beside the car, it unlocked & off we went. Our 3rd Tesla so somewhat seasoned. It was late so we didn't dilly dally - 200km drive to get her home.
Battery was at 44%.
Car was clean & there are a few small issues but not really checked in too much detail to be honest.
Excessive wind noise from b-pillar, some water ingress (might have been from being washed or a window left partially open). Won't get a chance to do much with it for a few days.
It had 12km on the odometer.
Needs tinting (my MSM beside it at the Ionity has tint for comparison).
The new Tesla Vision AP is unusable at night though - I've posted my thoughts on that in the Model 3 thread.

Good experience collecting. Car was spotless. No problems except tiny bit of condensation in rear lights which all cars seemed to have. Tesla guy said it will clear up but if it doesn’t, I have photo taken. I got good weather. battery at 44%.
Mine had 39% when I collected today. All cars looked like they were washed and got a lick of tire shine.
Lovely car. That's the color I wanted but I took what I could get. White.
