To the point, we have extensive intervention & assistance from European states and USA etc. Who all have military and economic experts monitoring the news. Now they could be filtering Ukrainian news output as well and slanting it certain ways to suit. But there's a lot more oversight of the info coming from Ukraine.
Whereas in the case of the Russian state and Russian news outlets, any sane person can see that it's impossible to believe any information from those sources. Bare faced liars. And nothing new in this, I tuned into RT several years ago and just laughed at the spiel they were feeding on world events.

Are they accurate, nobody knows but many of the equipment losses can be independently verified.

If RT is saying X & Y village has been liberated by Ukraine, there's absolutely no reason for them to lie about that.
You could assume then that possibly Z village was liberated also or they potentially have worse loses then they admit.
You had the video a few days ago about a Ukrainian amphibious assault going wrong. Many on here noted the lack of blood, faces obscured, no damage nearby and saying the video looked staged. Low and behold it was staged. Sensible people using their noggin to make an informed decision.

I'll take it that you are new to the thread, so I'll give you slack.
Kyiv independent get their numbers from the military. In the early weeks of the war, people were wondering if the figures were true. A lot of people went through the numbers and verified that the numbers were very realistic and could be trusted as a guide. This is going back to week 1 and 2.
The numbers are not exact but they are in range of good accuracy.
Even if the numbers were half true it these would be significant losses for the Russian army. I expect that they are at least between the two. Now we know the Russians have poor musical backup. So allowing for a 3-1 ratio rather than 5+ to 1 by most modern armies it means that probably half the invasion force is out of action.
Add captured troops and they may have less than 100 k holding the lines. These would be mostly poorly trained conscripts. If they have added to the force it with poorly trained conscripts.
If the UA's numbers are correct this is not sustainable for Russia
Invaded with 150,000 , which 50,000 dead and presumably a similar figure of at least 40,000 injured or Incapacitated,it doesn't look like they have 100,000 holding the line,add they have lost an average of 53 tanks for every week of the war ,not including other vehicles and aircraft.
No modern army can sustain such losses without weaking the defense of their own country
