Women's draw
Men's draw
Final grand slam of the year, let's hope it's a good one!
You look into his history and form you'll definitely see a waining attitude since he left the underage game. Pure indifference for whatever reason.
Its been well noted over the years he's tried as little as possible, relative to other pros. Indifferent attitude, for nearly two decades till recently when it's too late
Poor forehand? Had 20 years to work on it. Didn't care. Thought he could wing it on talent. When the likes of Nadal really doubled down and put the work in, Gasquet didn't care, didn't bother, didn't try a leg tbh, relative to others. Didn't push on and evolve.
Believed his own arrogance he was better, which he was, but didn't work on it
Sounds alot like kyrgios, great talent but wasted it because he couldn't be bothered. Kyrgios now putting in a bit of a effort but imagine what he would be like if he did the hard work, he would be untouchable.
Its the reason Hewitt is the only player Kyrgios will look up to. Despite a turbulent relationship, Hewitt stuck by him and one of the reasons he's focused. All other OZ players against him
The difference in his consistency now is the Hewitt battling factor, Kyrgios young enough to change, Gasquet years past it
Might seem a bit harsh on Gasquet, but correct I'd say. There is also something either in the French psyche or their tennis federation, but you could level the same at Tsonga and Monfils. Unbelievable talent, but no backbone when it came to it. Monfils, in particular, versus ND in Oz(?) was shameful. Amazing to have a generation from one country so talented, yet won no majors. Similar happening at the moment with Italy, but hopefully Sinner, Berrettini or Musetti may step up.
Ruud totally trouncing Moutet so far.
Berrettini fighting back (serve really clicked) really well against Davidovich Fokina after losing first set.
Didn't watch the Sinner match but not surprised to see him beat Nakashima
This Berrettini/Davidovich Fokina is really enjoyable...looks like it might be going to a 5th set.
Moutet manages to nick the third set...Ruud still has to be favourite.
Berrettini up a break in final set, good contest this one.
Insane court coverage from Gauff, into the QF's for the first time to face Caroline Garcia. She really is incredibly level headed for an 18 year old, playing under a huge lens in front of a packed Arthur Ashe stadium and taking it all in her stride. Garcia will be a tough match (or maybe not if Garcia bottles it), but if she can get past her then I think she can make the final.
So Nadal, Alcaraz or Ruud to be World #1 next week.
Is it down to who goes the furthest in this competition?
It's a bit more complicated than that, albeit a bit simpler than it was at the time of writing this article

Even if Ruud/Acaraz were to win, Nadal would still be #1 if he just gets to the semi.
Hopefully there are Boardsies reading this who can correct me if I'm wrong :)
Watched the highlights of the Kyrgios/Medvedev match. I know he had a 3/1 record against him but was expected Medvedev to up his game this time, but third and fourth set look to have been pretty one sided.
Bit of an overstatement. Take away his ridiculously overrated backhand and his game is nothing great. Never was, and nothing to do with wasted talent.
Norrie second best against Rublev...not much of a contest.
Swiatek in real bother was hammered in first set Niemeier very impressive
Swiatek looks likes she’s going through the motions and it was said by the commentators.
Tiafoe is 4-3 up on nadal first set.
She seems to have woken up a bit in the second set.
Tiafoe taken first set!
Yeah but an hour late.
Still too good! Hammering Niemeier now in third set!
Tiafoe/Nadal all square
What channel is showing the tennis?
Amazon Prime
Yeah just catching up as I had to do something else. Seems Iga won easy enough but that first set and 3 games wasn’t her best.
Yeah she was very poor for a good chunk of that. Women's draw is wide open really!
Nadal in a bit of bother down a break in third.
Didn't see Tiafoe causing Nadal much trouble here. Hoping Nadal pulls through.
Swiatek was pretty terrible earlier, only really got through because Niemeier completely fell apart in the third set. Think Pegula will take her out in the QF's, Swiatek obviously not terribly happy playing in New York with those light balls.
Nadal fightback looks on...up a break in the 4th...
Took forever for that roof to close though
Well 4-3 to Tiafoe in set 4 and up 2 sets to 1.
5-3 to Tiafoe now, Nadal to serve
Tiafoe 5-3 up but the nerves kicked in a bit and he tightened up.
Fans just sit down where ever you can.
Yes 🙂
Now, either Ruud or Alcaraz to make the final to ice that cake.
