That Var thing was interesting. As far as I'm aware it's only supposed to go back as far as where the attacking team first had possession of the ball as part of the goalscoring move. That incident took place before they had possession so I don't think it can be looked at going by my understanding of the rules.

It wasn't a clear and obvious error so why was VAR getting involved? The way things are going, it'll be scrapped.

Clear and Obvious isn't actually defined though - so it's quite subjective, was it a foul on Eriksen? If on first viewing the VAR ref thinks yes - then to him it's clear, How often is a decision ruled out because it's obviously wrong?

If say the ref on field is chatting to VAR says I didn't give a free because the arsenal lad won the ball, and VAR says no they didn't - than - is that a clear error of fact by the ref which VAR have to highlight to him?
