Bit conflicted here. Yeah it's bad on the women but he genuinely can do this without a care in the world and the next one will always arrive at the station as the last one departs.

maybe he has a pre nup with them all promising 1 million bucks at the age of 25 to go away quietly and say nothing about him ever. None of them ever berate him so he gives them something tangible . Good time for 3+ years and a nest egg at the end, mosty women would sign up for that. All the parties yachts premieres everything for 3/5 years, all ends when you are bored with it anyway & the few quid to start again...... better than the lotto.

He would have 23/24 when he made Romeo + Juliet & Titanic in quick succession. He was a star already, but these movies blasted him into the A list. Hollywood royalty. Who wouldn't want to stay that age forever when you're that talented, rich, and famous?

How do you move on from that kind of fame? Why would you grow out of that?

Only a few can know what that kind of fame and money means? It kills some people, others flourish. But nobody avoids weirdness.

This sums it up for me. He isn’t a typical guy for his age and is missing many of the typical experiences we all go through as we age. The guy never had a normal life ever. Most of those child stars seem to come out of it completely messed up.

None of this can really be discussed without mentioning the pareto principle. In the context of dating, men aren't as choosy about their sexual mate. Therefore they top 10% of men are more likely, to not only shag women of equal attractiveness, but to also shag down below their level. It means the men in the percentile below this are confused why women of their own attractiveness have no interest in them until they are ready to settle down.

I've heard on PUA websites, that the top 20% of men (presumably between 16 and 35-ish) are shagging the top 80% of women... presumably within the same age range. Now I doubt it's that extreme, but to a greater or lesser extent, something of this effect is taking place out there. But in order for this to be occurring, it can only mean that there's a lot of men in the top percentile who are cheating... and that the women they're cheating with, would rather keep shagging such a man in the hopes that he'll leave his partner.

Their relationship is more "equal", the relationship didn't really benefit either of them career wise/publicity wise etc if anything you might think she married "beneath" her depending on your perspective.

It's not super creepy yet, nor uncommon in the US or elsewhere but he has set a pattern. He may be finding spiritual peace with these ladies, for a while anyway and he's not entirely to blame here. They are signing up to the ever ageing DeCaprio train! Rich and famous does that for some people.

As to the OP question, not to say that such relationships can't work but there are reasons why we tend to stay in our own lanes age-wise, mostly down to interests, world experience and a desire not to be just a babysitter!

So maybe the next girlfriend will think she's "the one" and she'll change his ways but the reality is she probably won't. However she will benefit from a raised profile, a nice lifestyle and maybe even bring her career up a level.

After the first few high profile break ups I thought Leo was "hiding his sexuality" but being gay /bisexual is so "now" there really is no need.

Generally speaking when I see an older man with a much younger girlfriend I think, a woman of his own age wouldn't put up with whatever quirks he has.

He's a famous actor who has done this over and over. Any woman going into a relationship with him goes in with her eyes wide open. Personally a string of 20 something year old girlfriends sounds like a complete nightmare to me. I think he's probably gay.

Famous actors probably talk about how difficult it is to be famous, what's this director like, oh wow I had this really difficult audition yesterday, yeah I know what that's like etc., etc.

I don't see anything wrong with age gaps between girls in their 20s and older men in general. Some girls are mature for their age and some are not. The mature ones can get along well with older men. Sometimes they will have common interests (ie the acting example above).

The 'power imbalance' rhetoric does not ring true to me because many young women are aware of their sexual power, regardless of whatever faux-naivety they or others ascribe to them, and able to wield it to get what they want. This is always left out of the discussion.

Older women whose sexual power has faded are not more powerful but less powerful! They are trying to use feminist rules to bridge their own power gap and they have managed to create a situation where you have grown men saying they are creeped out or disgusted by seeing another grown man dating a 25 year old women!! This is a purely socialised response if it is anything.

Yeah but while men do look for beauty in a woman (of course, it's nature) they aren't all just interested in that alone. They can value personality, character, shared interests, as well as physical beauty... thinking of all guys as just interested in looks and sex and not caring about anything else, is a negative stereotype. It's like saying women are only interested in money.

They're all adults so can do what they want. It's public knowledge he does this so they all know what they're getting into. Presumably the women are in it for the increased public profile they get during and after the relationship has ended. So where's the harm. All of the men in their 30s and 40s on here saying they wouldn't date women in their 20s because they wouldn't be able to relate to them are full of sh1t especially if those women happened to look anything like DiCaprios exes!

The rich live in a different world, a rich man will always find a young beautiful woman to be his girlfriend, I, d have no interest in going out with a woman under 35, I presume most 22 year olds are obsessed with social media or tik Tok, I'd prefer an average looking woman

Not saying you are wrong but your whole post is pure speculation and very judgmental unless you have actual evidence that a power imbalance is why he pursues these types of relationships.

We can all speculate, maybe he doesn't want to commit, maybe he doesn't want kids so moves on when his partners get broody. In any case I won't judge based on speculation which is what your post suggests you do.

Yeah I don't see an issue when she's a consenting adult, even if very young. She knows what she's doing too. She would NOT be going out with a regular dude aged 47 who's an I.T. manager!

It's not the stuff of a fulfilling relationship but that's not anyone else's concern. Dumping someone for turning 25 is as shallow and obnoxious as only dating for money though.

Generally speaking, large age gaps can be a problem because of the differences in life stage. Patrick Stewart is 38.5 years older than his wife. Now that he's in his 80s and she's still a few years off 50, she's gonna be a carer... and a widow early in life.
