One school of thought that Ukrainian troops may not actually fight for Kherson city rather that they may position themselves around it and leave the Russian troops with no option but to retreat, they would have to destroy any reinforcents trying to cross the river while leaving them enough room to retreat. But nothing to say yet wether they can achieve this or not yet.
Big worry also is the substantial reinforcement from the 3rd corps of Russian forces.
