Browsing the various Gorbachev articles and tributes I came across this commentary on Putin.
Russian Telegram reporting Ukrainian activity across the Dnipro river in Enerhodar (where the nuclear power plant is).
how original, stay classy Putin
Perhaps if this hadnt been preceeded by two plus years of economic suicide thanks to Covid and climate hysteria then that would be the case. People now take a very jaundiced view of taking hits for the greater good when the last sacrifice for the greater good turned out to be a crock of ****
If fuel shortages bite hard, European countries will break ranks. If we'd hadnt been so deluded about the viability of renewable sources then Ukraine would not be in this fix.
Likes of Germany and France “Break ranks” and do what exactly?
* Invade Eastern European countries bordering Russia who are extremely supportive of Ukraine in order to reach Ukraine to teach those Ukrainians a lesson with a second front??
* Continue trading with Russians??
* Continue allowing Russians and their dirty money in??
* Drop the so far weak sanctions???
* Stop sending aid? Oh wait Germany sent **** all compared to others and it’s own promises in reality
* Send macron back to Kremlin, again??
* Tear apart the EU for mother Russias benefit??
Seriously can the “oh I’m such a cynical Putin admirer” like yourself spell out how exactly can likes of Germany force Ukraine to negotiating table and handover up a fifth of its country/population/resources (and forgetting all the atrocities) to Putin so he can start rebuilding for next campaign in Baltics or Poland or Finland
These “German industry is going to save (Brexit) Russia” type meme posts are getting tiring in their sheer stupidity and lack of awareness of who actually has a say and influence in this war, and just how deeply Putin has screwed Russia over.
He suffered sadness.
No he was grabbed and thrown out a window
Must be the only country in earth where children are told stories about keeping away from windows as they are dangerous things
Indeed. But we must think about it. As horrible at that is.
To (probably) misquote a war documentary I remember from the 90's, The Nazis and the horror they unleashed on the world was a warning from history. A warning of the incredible cruelty mankind is capable of.
It's pretty easy to take these kind of horrors and pin them onto 1930's Germans or pin the horror in Ukraine onto the Russians of today, but such things are possible anywhere and at anytime when the conditions are right. We should never take for granted it could never happen here. It is important for us to remember what had happened in Irpin, Mariupol, and anywhere else these animals have chosen to forget their humanity. More importantly, we must never allow them to forget what they did.
Plot twist. The window was an agent of Ukraine!
When oh when will something be done about those unsafe upstairs windows in Russia?
The irony of all these is that ultimately the "nuclear option" of cutting off Gas into Europe lies not only in Russian hands. Most gas piped to Europe from Russia is piped through Ukraine and Ukraine could shut off that supply as readily as Russia could.
Igor Strelkov says contrary to reports, there is no information on what's happening in Kherson or Enerhodar.
He says Ukraine have retaken half of New York (the Ukrainian one).

That too
the constant “Germans will freeze and come crawling back to Emperor Putin for forgiveness” type posts here and elsewhere on this forum miss the elephant in the room and are ridiculous.
In order to have a say in this war and force Ukraine to “take one for team Europe” one needs to have leverage and the leverage lies with 1. USA and 2. All the countries along Russias border from Finland down to Turkey
USA sees a cheap way to tie up Russia and focus on China, so far they spent 50b on overall aid while seizing 7x that in Russian criminal money, they are also energy independent by actually exploiting the resources they have at home unlike the Europeans who turned nose at fracking and nuclear tech in order to save few bob with Russian gas
All the countries near Russia have a long history and memories of Russian subjugation they instinctively realise they are next and for them this war is a matter of putting to rest the biggest threat to their national survival
Germany can resume buying all the Russian oil and gas tomorrow they want (big assumption here that Putin will actually resume sales) and the only result would be the tearing apart of EU which is exponentially more important to German economy than criminal deals for Russian energy, anyways Germany has 15-20 years of gas in Germany itself, plenty of time to extract it and complete their disastrous Energiewende programme
Where did I mention Germany and France in the post you're quoting?
Where did I mention Putin let alone express admiration for him?
Where did I mention forcing Ukraine back to the negotiating table?
Your entire post is responding to something that exists only in your head, I think you need to explain yourself a bit before you get a serious response.
That poster is completely gone off the reservation tbh. Everyone is a putinbot to him/her.
And yet we have video and audio of attacks ,
Literally the post of yours I quoted
here is the exact sentence of yours
”If fuel shortages bite hard, European countries will break ranks.”
So once again “break ranks” and do what exactly?
Zaporizhzhia is been shelled again today by russian forces, after refusing inspectors access to the site . And then shelling the route the inspectors were traveling along
Nobody seen that coming, literally nobody.
And people are convinced that the Russians wouldn't push the button on a nuclear weapon , while Russia is shelling a nuclear power plant that they have already rigged with explosives
Sounds absolutely horrendous.
putin won't be attending Gorbys funeral this week, citing a heavy workload prevents him from attending.
He's scared now to be in public that's all that is
It’s a fatal flaw in human nature to outsource authority to perceived charismatic and dynamic people. And you can’t trust people with unlimited power whether good or bad. It will lead to our ultimate demise long before any natural extinction event. Nuclear annihilation will be justified by some such cult like leader at some stage in future history. We are currently seen such a cult like figure being encouraged to do it by his lunatics as we speak.
At the risk of sounding like a Russian propaganda stooge, I actually don't get why Russia would be shelling the plant?
They have used the place as a base for their military, plenty of evidence to show this, and reports they are using the plant to position their own weapons to fire upon Ukrainian positions. So why then shell the site themselves?
The only explanations I could think of is that they are trying to cause an accident their and blame it on the Ukranian side, but that would seem the height of stupidity even for the Russians.
That's exactly the thinking, the cause an accident then blame it on the Ukrainans all the while blocking all and any subsequent investigations while releasing their own report that squarely blames Nazi Ukrainians.
As we seen when Russia shot down flight mh17
Why cause an accident when prevailing winds send the radiation to Donbass and Russia?
Also they need the ZNPP operational to power the occupied areas - it makes no sense that they would deliberately shell a plant that they control.
Who said Russians are the brightest or most logical bunch?
If they were either then this war wouldn’t have happened
If they can't have it , then the Ukrainians can't have it either,
Remember they have been saying ukraine would committ a false flag to using terrorism on a nuclear site to make them look bad
Casualties on both sides are going to be huge.
If the IAEA mission find that the Russians were not shelling their own plant - would you accept that? Or insist they too are kremlin propagandists?
