An easy mistake that many prospective Tesla purchasers make. The price is that which Tesla quote on their website which of course does not include VRT and delivery charges which adds almost 5.5k more . The Tesla approach to pricing on their website is arguably misleading ..
I got mine at 7. Rang twice today because I wanted to get onto the insurance. 222 registration 😋
I had a few accessories from Amazon delivered too. Screen protector, Floor mats, boot mat and frunk mat. LED strip light for frunk. Tesla logo courtesy door lights. Also the console tray set x 3. Can't wait!!!
I paused my insurance when I sold my Leaf. I'll be getting the tesla put onto the policy tomorrow unless they try rip me off, I will take out a new policy. The policy was only active 1 day!!!
I overpayed by 900 they called shortly before collection asking if i want a refund or if they should changed what they are invoicing for financing. I told them to add it to our downpayment and reduce the financing
Ya mines -1. I paid exactly what was listed on the webpage down to the cent. But someone from Tesla got onto me that the figure online wasn’t right and that I owed them .82 cents of a final payment.
No excuse. It’s laziness of the highest order.
Im on my phone and it took me 27 seconds to open safari, go to Tesla Ireland, go to the MY order page and it’s bang on there. The actual OTR price.
*But, I agree the estimated fuel savings figure should be removed
Yes all come with carpet type mats in front and back.
Agreed that you can find the actual price, if you go looking. The point I was making is that the way Tesla presents the information is misleading as the headline rate is the lower one (without VRT or delivery fees) which is there in the most prominent position (see below). Others have commented and indeed Tesla staff are fully aware and admit it causes a lot of confusion.
Look at how tesla quote for the model y Sr and their other products. Something weird going on there.
Class. Good luck man.
No need to go looking. It’s in the main page in front of you as I posted a screenshot of.
In what way?
Can you please give a link to where you got the roof rack? I don't fancy paying Tesla prices and Thule don't seem to do one for the M3!
link to the mats - i got the 8pcs RHD
link for the roof rack:
Plenty of coupons out there for Aliexpress too which further reduce the cost - ok the wait for shipping is a long time and you may get hit with some duty but all in all the quality of the stuff is at least as good as what tesla supply.
Just off the phone to a nice chap from tesla (a chap from the north).
SEAI grants holding up my order and many others he told me - but should be finalized by next Monday at the latest. Doesn't give me a whole lot of time to get insurance but hey i guess that's life.
Once it doesn't push out delivery.
What is the earliest date anyone has got for collection?
I'm the 9th (2pm)
Have seen 7th online, think this may be earliest
I range insurance company. Adding nearly €300 to the policy which is double the base policy. Total policy with all the bells is now just under €700. A little disappointing and the best rate was with the AA at sub €600. Not worth the hassle moving over and taking their membership, so it looks like I will have to absorb the increase. I did do a new online quote and the basic quote came to 600.
I'm the 7th. Earliest date is the 6th.
Motortax just paid. Arrears of €12 because it was registered yesterday...robbing cnuts 🤨
And also oddly enough, I checked my Tesla account and although it had been fully paid, it shows I owe €0.82. The minimum I could send by Revolut was €1. Anyone have Elons cell?
My delivery date was supposed to be the 7th but Tesla and AIB have conspired to make it impossible.
I must be the first person in Ireland to attempt to trade in a Tesla with outstanding finance on it. Should be straightforward in theory, but in practice it's proving to be a logistical nightmare.
Tesla want a settlement letter from AIB that's valid for 14 days after delivery, but AIB only send out letters valid for 10 working days. Also it takes 6-10 working days for them to print out the letter and send it in the post! 😣
You'd think in 2022 they'd have figured out a secure way to do this electronically...
That’s ridiculous!
especially as it seems that the outstanding loan is also AIB!
i have to say this has been a fairly crazy experience buying from tesla for the first time - compared to just negotiating a deal with a dealer and handing them the keys of your old car and signing a couple of bits and pieces for finance, they look after it all for you.
Having said all of that the reason i ended up getting a Tesla was because no dealer could guarantee me delivery of a new EV before the budget.
Thanks, they are cutting it fine for folks picking up soon.
But defo thanks for the update, much appreciated. Saves many of us running their phones off the hook.
48 Teslas registered in Ireland in August so people should get their reg number details very soon. There should be a big jump in numbers for September too.
I was told the 4th by Tesla but unfortunately can’t pick mine up till the 17th. 😭
My trade in is nowhere to be seen on my account. Was valid until the day I pick up. How worried should I be?
The 6th is collection day 1 according to the last Tesla rep I spoke to
I'm picking mine up on 7th, and I got a text with the reg yesterday. The reg and pin are still not recognized by the motortax website but should be by tomorrow.
I picked up a few accessories from Amazon, but due to an issue with my order, I ended up ordering twice. If anyone's interested, one set is on adverts: http://www.adverts.ie/27840183. Mods feel free to delete if that's not allowed, I just thought it might be of use to a new owner.
I have just offered the asking!
Why would jack pads be needed if there’s no spare wheel? There’s probably an obvious answer that I’ve not thought of..
I have a puncture repair kit that might require taking a wheel off depending on the location of the puncture. And, if leaving the car into a tyre centre, they'd need to use jack pads to avoid damage. It also means I can rotate the tyres myself when needed. Some people also like to remove the wheels when cleaning the car so they can clean the inner rim.
