Apparently Lars wife is Irish hench the Irish twang to his accent.
Hopefully Ronaldo is gone on Thursday, Ken seems to be obessed with him of late. How is that someone mentioned him on the lex fridman podcast worthy of news/discussion.
I remember when I heard him first on a podcast I thought it was some Irish fella. Only to find out after that he was Norwegian.
Hopefully. Because it will also mean the end of your obsession with Kens obsession with Ronaldo.
Agreed
Does anyone know how are relations with Ger Gilroy and the SC lads nowadays?
Eoin Sheahan finishing in OTB today and said OTB had survived and thrived after departures in the past and Ger ribbed him that he was firing shots at SC on his way out the door.
PS in other rival podcast verbal broadsides I suppose the lads don't listen to Dunphy anymore, but FYI Chippy Brady agrees with Ken on Alexander Arnold to midfield obvs, Brady didn't reference that anyone else has suggested it and I am aware Ken is not the only one to have said it.
Jaysus. That's mental!!
Ger said on his appearance on The Irish man abroad that the lads had all being at his wedding and now they no longer spoke. Doubt there’s much bad blood, just the way it is.
I heard that bit this morning. It sounded like Eoin was referring to a different departure, who I assume was Colm Parkinson?
And there was a big spread in the Sunday Independent a few years ago where Ger mentioned that they aren't friends any more, but sounds like natural drift when you're not working and not so much bad blood...
Joe on OTB was fairly kind towards them in an interview in the last couple of years. Think he was talking about how he became an anchor on the show due to their departure, so he probably views it in a positive light.
In relation to Gers wedding that sort of thing happens to colleagues all the time. People you work with go to your wedding but once they leave work you never hear from them again.
Would love a 30 for 30 style documentary on it one day but wouldn't be for years while everyone is still working.
Parkinson made a mess of that. He had potential to be a cross platform personality, marched himself into a niche instead.
Parkinson probably doing almost aswell as second captains. 3800 Patreons and less sharing. Marching into a niche could also be called staying in your lane. Parkinson wasn’t good on any sport but GAA or from my point of view if he’s good at anything it’s GAA.
Jesus that is decent. I take it back so. Fair play to him.
Think I heard Jonathan Healy, that vacant plank, on OTB earlier this week. If he's Eoin's replacement, then they're in BIG trouble.
Better off not knowing, take pleasure in the fact you've never heard of him.
The business guy on Red fm? Nah, it'll be some twenty something starting out who has already been working behind the scenes. That's usually how they have done it in the past
Can see them rotating for a bit Johnny Ward, Dan McDonnell etc. maybe appearing 1 or 2 mornings a week, interesting to see if Eoin ends up back there.
Ger would of had a different relationship with Ken than with the others. They were friends in college and he brought Ken into OTB, but yeah... people lose touch, it's normal. Parkinson however has tweeted about falling out with Gilroy, then again I think Parkinson is the type to fall out with people fairly easily, especially with those in management.
I don't like tennis. I don't watch tennis. I don't care about tennis. I love when they have Caitlin Thompson on to discuss tennis... And I see Murph was right about Serena winning...
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Ken's hungry bum comment yet. I lol'd
Does the football podcast get a lot of its stories from /r/soccer I wonder? The obvious answer is a lot of the big stories just pop up everywhere but I do find some meme posts I see on Reddit get covered on the pod
bit of spicy chat between ken and murph lately
That was old friends having a great time.
They seem to spark off each other more now they're back in the studio.
It does seem like Murph is the over enthusiastic puppy to Ken's grizzled old man, and Ken gets grumpy after a certain amount of time over it.
It's very, very good. Absolutely insane how it all played out, even madder how oblivious the Spanish FA were towards it
Holy sh1t, the Women's World Cup qualifying is complicated, had a pain in my head listening to Gavin Cooney explain it.
The TV Guide was a bit all over the place this week. It was Lazio v Napoli last night, not the Rome derby, and Chelsea v West Ham was on at 3pm on Saturday, not the early game on Sunday
Hopefully it's noted for his performance appraisal.
Does anyone even listen to what they're saying in the TV guide section?
I plan my weekend around it and I still haven't recovered from the shock of different games being on yesterday.
Feature length “let it flow” segment incoming from Ken tomorrow
