Picked this up a while ago and only getting to it now. Love this tune. Reminds me of the JBs.
Was reading an old issue of 'Q' from around '97, En Vogue were interviewed and there was a sidebar with a list of the other American R&B girl groups who were doing well at the time.
So was listening to some stuff I didn't know and other stuff I had kind of forgotten.

Parlet was George Clinton's girl group answer to Rick James' girl group The Mary Jane Girls.
They had three albums. You can deffo hear the P-Funk influence on this track. Would not be out of place on a Bootsy album if you ask me. Also very similar to some of Motor Booty Affair.
I was down in Miami and was fortunate enough to snag a vinyl copy in good nick.
