No it's very odd. Hope everything ok. Dave does a decent enough job on his own but the show really misses Dermot's comedy.

I love Bad Joke Tuesday, but dear lord, never, ever bring Pamela Joyce in again. I had to turn it off today her laugh was so annoying. And I say that as someone who listens to her show, and it's usually ok (mid afternoon fluff).

In the past five-or-so years, Graham and Nathan, Ed Roche and Valerie, Louise Cantillon, Steve K and Jessica Maciel have all either done cover on Today FM or been moved from Spin to Today FM.
I can’t think of anyone recently making that move from 98 fm.
Edit: Peter Collins who is on Spin has also been doing cover on Today Fm.

He did say a "fill in" which Louise isn't. She has the weekend afternoon slot for the foreseeable. Spin is the handiest as they are part of Bauers "Go Loud" network. It's a wonder Cash Machine Barry hasn't got a slot yet.

Louise Cantillon just posted on Insta that she's filling in on the Pumped Up Kicks slot for the next while Saturday 2-6, along with doing Sunday 4-7 (Sunday drive), and Mondays and Tuesdays 7-10 (stepping in for Paula MacSweeney).
Claire Beck was in the 7-10 slot last night - might she be presenting that temporarily too (and maybe Wednesdays?)? She was hosting Sunday drive up to this point so probably a shuffle in the schedule and hopefully still doing Saturday Soundsystem of course.

As for Go Breaks, I didn't cop that, even though I found it strange that they ended the ad with "as recommended by TodayFM".

Well, I wasn't suggesting leaving Today FM but just weekday breakfast. Maybe the new 6am start is getting the better of him. Must be at least 2 if not 3 generation of listeners who don't know of a time when there wasn't an Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on the airwaves. I wouldn't blame him if he decided to wind it down.
Well as you said it’s twice this summer so while I think Dempsey did say he signed a new contract with today fm I can’t remember how recent it and for how long.
