Each to their own but one of the last people I'd want as any sort of uncle.
Seems Ballsy wants to get in and get out as quickly as he can.
Seems to me he can’t wait to get the ‘live’ bit of the programme over before paddling into the calmer and less turbulent backwaters of one to one interviews with largely safe interviewees.
Francis Brennan is a great man for the yarns.
Especially enjoyed the one about him leaving in a silk tie with donations to the local charity shop and a couple of weeks later seeing it being used to keep a farm gate closed.
Brendan's description of him as a "kind of national uncle" very apt.
He finishes off with a "a brilliant way to round off the week"........ Plays a minute and a half of We Are The Champions by Queen 🙄
Very formulaic these weekend programmes from O'Connor. Boring and predictable in their format.
Would someone in RTE there not give the presenter & producer a good kick up the arse and get them to change things up a bit.
Heh heh…. Nice one Sham… however I have to say auld Francis is a breath of fresh air.
I can’t help liking the guy…..fcuker is a lot more positive than some of the sour kernts Brendan has to interview.
Francis Brennans ass'll be clean as a whistle when Brendan's finished with him this morning ... "we have no at your service, no travel programmes in the making at the moment HELOOO RTE" sez the bold montrosia made guy Francis, neck as thick as an asses collar that lad
He has a comedian with a stammer on now-I'm saying nothing.
I did mention rabbit holes Francis, so I’d say…..”good decision for all our readers”!!!
STILL doesn't explain the inordinate amount of disclaimers. And you aren't going to even try, so I'll leave it.
I’m afraid given a post count of 55k plus Francis, most on the same theme, it’s not in my head they are rattling, one would opine.
Will Brendan and his crew change the theme music to the show after recent revelations?
Listening to his interview with Win Butler a few weeks ago, Brendan is obviously a massive fan.
Give RTEs previous on such matters, it will be pretty embarrassing for Brendan and Co.
Still doesn't explain the inordinate amount of disclaimers, no matter how many times you rattle those shinners living in your head Brendi. 😉
None so blind as those who cannot see……….isn’t t that the auld saying.
You seem to have all the answers when the narrative is in your favour but a lot of blind spots when it’s not.
I don’t go down rabbit holes Francis, way too cool for that 😌
My takeaway from yesterday's show was Alison O'Connors quip
"there's nowhere near enough fear in this house"
Think about it.... 🙂
So finally we have what you were riddling about.
So how does that explain the inordinate amount of disclaimers on this show when issues about wrongdoings of other ministers of this government haven't see so many.
Are you saying Mr Troy is particularly threatening or litigious?
Aah Francis, you need to read the thread and study the context.
I can’t hold your hand for another 10 or 15 pages.
WTF? Or how the hell was anybody to see the reference there and what is the relevance?
But of course you know well what I was referring to……..
Amazing how uninformed you can be when it suits you.
Who is the front seat passenger??
I don't do riddles Brendi, if can't respect the conversation enough to spit it out in plain English why bother at all.
With respect I know the difference between a legitimate question and a libelous allegation.
Hmmmm…….. maybe in your realm, but not mine.
Didnt the ‘front seat passenger’ threaten to sue anyone who inquired about his activities?
More common than one thinks in my opinion.
Maybe where you dwell it’s different?
Uhmmm…..
The reason it raised comment here in the first place was how unusual it was.
Are they, going on my experience they are extremely common.
Multiple disclaimers are unusual Brendi. One usually suffises.
Did MLMCD not do it?
You see presenters are normal folk, my friend, they don’t want writs hanging over them, they don’t want to be up in courts of law over something that someone else said.
Could I respectfully suggest that if YOU were running a discussion panel you’d make sure no tosser landed you in the courts.?
Im only a ordinary Joey and I can see that.
You would have very bland radio shows if people weren't allowed to question dodgy politicians like Troy clearly is. All political stories involve peeling the onion and the panel were spot on.
Many dodgy politicians threaten to sue for defamation but you know what, they rarely ever do.
NT is brutal on Saturdays after Anton Savage, Bobby Kerr should go back to the “Late Breakfast” format.
Sunday is much better with Future Proof and then Gavin Reilly.
