RTE tends to prioritize style over substance in news and current affairs presenters as distinct from reporters. The Six-One News and Prime Time are examples of this. I like this Joanna Donnelly as a presenter. She has a pleasant on screen persona and, given her main job as a senior meteorologist, speaks with authority and people actually listen to her words. Evelyn Cusack and Gerald Fleming were both in the same mould. Every presenter has quirks or mannerisms that not all will find attractive.

I guess its personal taste but for me he's to aggressive in his manner for TV , you can tell when he makes jokes he always go a little to far for TV
Roy for example was far more aggressive player but knows when to rein it in on TV

To be fair, there’s not a lot of United fans about these days. An incredibly fickle bunch most of whom have “jumped ship” to the likes of Rovers and Bohs in the League of Ireland.
They’ll say it’s down to English soccer getting being ruined by money and that they want a purer live “experience” but it’s really down to their team falling from grace and they don’t want to hang around to watch them fall.
That’s great for LoI but you’d have to worry long term that if United turn it around in a few years and are no longer terrible will these fickle, fair weather, “fans” leave the stands, squeeze on the old United jersey and head back to the pub, loudly proclaiming how they’ve been a lifelong supporter? Of course they will.

Speaking as Leeds fan, I can say I think what Carragher did was scummy. Very surprised he didn’t lose his role with Sky Sports.
I don’t mind him as a Co-commentator, or tactical analyst, but find him a bit much as a studio pundit. Seems to be a package deal with him and Neville doing interviews and shows, so maybe that’s why he wasn’t dropped.

She consistently comes across as poorly prepared and unprofessional. (And I'm talking about the 07.55 forecasts on RTE radio as well as her RTE TV efforts.)

She does them from home as well from what I read, recently slated for some forecast or something from her kitchen holding a glass of wine. Also see nothing in the profiles listing her as a senior meteorologist.
