The affidavit also says that he had "Human intelligence" documents, meaning documents with details about spies working undercover overseas. What possible reason could he have for wanting those??
He also had FISA documents and it doesn't take a genius to take a guess what those might be about.
What are FISA documents please?
Documents related to suspected espionage. Eg the FBI had FISA warrants around the Carter Page stuff for example.
uhhhhhhhhh
So move over guy who tried to change the definition of "conceding" in this thread yesterday,
There's a new beer to hold in town, and it's owner is Peter Navarro
In any developed European country, or maybe the majority of developed countries worldwide, the ideals of the US Democratic party as a whole would be considered a tad to the right of centre-right. Some of the US Republican party's ideals as a whole, on the other hand, would be considered completely insane, i.e. the militant Christian evangelicalism, the gun lobbying and refusal to flatly condemn someone like Donald Trump. Take away the wittering of the US conservative news media and the difference between the parties is stark. Even in with the British Conservative party, they would never dare come out and say they want to get rid of the NHS, even if they're trying to dismantle it piecemeal, whereas to US Republicans, the concept of having free, affordable healthcare for all is basically saying you want Communism. Just hyperbolic, reactionary and hateful, and Trump's been taking full advantage of that this last decade.
I don’t think the Republicans can afford Donald running again. He’s now too damaged, the risk is he’ll further damage the party. Long term.
his public image amongst any reasonable thinking person is that he’s a malevolent, dangerous, not all there clown ⚠️ 🤡
They can neither afford him running again, nor can they afford to try and prevent him running again, if he were eligible. In the former case, he'll energise the vote against him and he will have no qualms about unleashing chaos if the vote doesn't go his way because he literally does not care about the country vs. his own ego.
In the latter case, he'll just sic his supporters on the Republican party. This is something he has already threatened. If we go back to Jan 6th, it looked like prominent Republican politicians were drawing a line in the sand over Trump. Cut to Donald Trump Jr. making vitriolic speeches about the Republican party and see how quickly the Republican party swallowed its pride and forgot they ever said anything negative about Trump on Jan 6th.
It's a monkey on the back of the party that's going to take some shaking off. Even if Trump goes away, that party is still going to have to take on board Trump's rhetoric and the kind of discourse he's normalised because that's what the party's voters respond to.
Republicans are begging him to SHUT UP so they can not lose the midterms:
Notice Rove never mentions all this is "Healthy" for "Americans" or "Democracy"
Blake Masters cut and run by the GOP - another MAGA candidate
This follows him scrambling to salvage his campaign by trying to disassociate himself from his states disastrous abortion ban rollout he'd like to pretend to voters he never supported.
oof
The Sharpie was a dead giveaway....
What a completely ****ed up family
Using a pic edited to hide a p1ss stain and posting it when on the marching powder wasn't a good idea
I find this ad a bit weak, to be honest. I don't think a lot of moderate Republicans are going to be swayed by, "This guy thinks he's all that. But he ain't all that..."
Trump claims that his Mar-a-Lago club residence was secure for top secret documents. Who was Anna de Rothschild? Did she frequent his club? Play golf with him? Join him in other personal “entertainment” activities? Did she have 2 fake passports? Did she speak Russian? Did she like red sparrows?
Reporting by Fox Business of all people, is something that I guess will surprise few here.
Apparently Trump failed to pay his pro Right-wing web-hoster for a while, and they also cannot copyright the name “Truth Social” because it sounds too similar to other platforms that were there from before.
Never found the right, center, and left political labels useful.
Maybe think of it as, {Can't agree}<------->{Can agree}<------->{Can't agree}.
I had a Republican voter in the US tell me that the very idea of universal healthcare was "evil". In the next breath he started banging on about his belief in Jesus and god.
That's what passes for thinking for some of them. There's no reaching a mind like that.
Well when you look at how pastors etc have managed to bastardise religion to make themselves richer and prop themselves up, it's not hard to see why so many Christians think that people who struggle to pay bills due to low paying jobs and increased cost of living, simply just aren't praying hard enough.
That doesn't necessarily work though. Right and Left can often agree in a functioning democratic system.
However, in US politics for stupid kids, it's more down to a simple Team A and Team B situation where there is an almost automatic refusal to see eye to eye once a particular team has set out its stall. Which is a peculiarity because both parties are conservative in nature, despite the childish rhetoric coming from the Republicans (especially the retarded Trump army) about "far/radical Left" and all that ridiculous noise.
It's, admittedly, fascinating while being thoroughly depressing at the same time to view the wretched state of the political scene in America, especially in present circumstances.
^^^^^ Your last paragraph Tony says it in a nutshell.
What I meant was that you have your middle ground where compromise/agreement is generally found. The further you get from that, you find your entrenched viewpoints and more oppositional mindset. Problems occur when one or both ends of the political spectrum gain too much influence and the tendency to compromise becomes worryingly stifled. Saying that, however, that rise in extremity can be symptomatic of certain issues, such as austerity, which need addressing in order to normalise things.
In order to truly get rid of Trump and his madness, the U.S. is going to have look at some deep set issues it has as a country and democracy, long before Trump ever started tweeting about Obama's birth certificate.
This twitter thread and the articles and posts it links to are IMO, very well worth a read.
It pulls together a huge amount of circumstantial evidence and the inferences of the evidence paint a very damning picture of how Trump handled state secrets and further how Trump's requests tally with blown covers and leaks.
All I know at this stage is that there will soon be only about 2 months to go until the U.S. midterms and the distinct possibility of their Congress switching back to a Republican majority who will more than likely pull out every stop they know of, and invent new ones if they have to in order to thwart, stymie or just plain kill the FBI investigation of Trump.
Sooo, tick-tock, tick-tock.
Their distraction game is p1ss poor.
"Obama and his tan suit" need to move over...
One of the reasons it doesn’t work in the US is that is no real left alternative. You have 2 parties dedicated to maintaining as close to the status quo as possible economically, while any radicals are off fighting about social issues.
Hadn't paid that much attention to his Georgia shenanigans but quite the range of stuff that could get him locked up or at least convicted.
But the greatest legal danger to Trump may come from the quiet workings of a grand jury in Georgia hearing evidence of his illegal attempts to overturn the state’s 2020 presidential election result and prevent Joe Biden from taking power.
“It’s a greater legal threat to the president and some of his followers than any of the other investigations which are going on right now,” said Ronald Carlson, a leading Georgia trial lawyer and professor at the University of Georgia’s law school. “Some of the potential charges carry very serious penalties.”
Americans have had it beaten into them since they were born that socialism is bad. Socialism basically being Communism in their eyes and not what actually works well enough in most developed countries, which is the state provision of certain services and infrastructure to all citizens, thus keeping them out of the hands of monopolies and oligopolies that would profiteer and badly impact quality of life.
